Hello, Ladies!! Man, it was a marathon to read what I missed with you all over the weekend! Wow! We had a good weekend, although I didn't get too much sleep. My 2 yo niece slept in our room and tossed, sighed, mumbled, and snored all night long!! She slept through the night, but kept dh and I awake for large parts of the night. Anyhow, we had a good visit with my bro and sil and a nice break from our lives. MammaMilty sent me the lion video and it made me cry. I'm turning into such a baby!! Christina- have you gotten settled into your new home, yet? Welcome, his_kid!!

That was a cute video. We just saw Running Free this morning at the free movie at the theater. it's about a colt that was brought to Africa and separated from his mother. An orphan boy who worked for the head of the mining company took him in. Then WWI came and the town was bombed so the people left. 12 years later the boy came back as a grown man and found the horse.

{{{Christi}}} I would have felt the same way. Glad you are home for now. Chelsea, that is an awesome picture. We have an appointment tomorrow for the van. Not the cheapest place, but the closest. If we jump it, I think we can get it there. But that place is pretty decent because they don't have a problem if dh wants to go get parts for cheaper, at least. Do auto parts places do mobile testing? Josiah is actually pretty brilliant with repairing things, and if he knew what the problem was, had the parts, and just some basic instructions, I bet he could fix it himself. Since we are stuck at home, we did a whole bunch of school this morning, and thankfully everyone cooperated. Asrat's first progress report and test pages are in the envelope and ready to go as soon as school officially opens. Until I get to talk to his main instructor, I'm just having him do the pages he's required to send in and reinforcing anything he's not 100% on, though that's only one or two things per 20 lessons. He may start 1st grade in December, if we keep up this rate.

Chelsea - Love the new avatar pic, too cute! I really should be doing laundry, but I am unmotivated today. I don't know if Hunter is just having a rough start this week or if it is terrible 2's starting, but he is being very temperamental. He is very stubborn as well with listening when we tell him no touch. He will wait till we go back to what were doing or wait till we sit back down to do it again. Hubby finally spanked him last night for not obeying and he still tried doing it. I feel so much better this week than I did last week, emotionally and I am so glad to be off birth control. Even though we are not officially trying yet I am still excited about the thought of a new little one. It is nice just to be feeling normal again, I forgot what that felt like. Well I need to go be productive...

Maggie, if he could get the alternator out himself and take it in, they could test it there. Then if that was the problem, he could just get a new one and bring it home and install it. The instructions could probably be easily found on the internet. That's what my hubby does. He's mechanically inclined, but usually finds what he needs online and prints it off and takes it out with him. ETA.... if you want to tell me what kind of car you have, I might be able to look for you.

Wow Jennifer, that would have been hard. And that was very convicting what God told the dad huh? I am glad you were able to go and show your support. Maggie- hopefully you can get the car fixed as cheap as possible!! Zippy- glad you had a great time away. LOL about your niece :) I am going to try some more baking today, chocolate brownies. I am using cocoa though instead of chocolate (dairy) so hopefully it still tastes as good. Yolanda- I love that photo of you and Chase

I always make my brownies with cocoa instead of chocolate, because I never have the baking chocolate on hand. The substitute for baking chocolate is 3 tbsp. cocoa and 1 tbs. oil for each ounce of chocolate. They always turn out fine!!

Can I have the recipe for pitas? HERE it is. They are so good. I am going to try making different things with the dough - today I took a bit of it and put pesto, turkey, pepperoni and cheese inside it (like a Hot Pocket) and cooked it. SO yummy!

But today I caught about 20 minutes of a movie called Mannequin. Does anyone else remember that movie? I'm kinda surprised my folks let me watch that. YES!!! LOL! I totally remember that movie.

LOL Ruth, my mum didn't censor much. We watched Flashdance , Grease, Dirty Dancing, Mannequin (I loved that movie) and lots of others. I was watching Drop Dead Fred the other day with Grace (mum used to let us watch it all the time) and realised how very inappropriate it is! Thanks Jess, the brownies turned out good, I didn't add an extra egg that the receipe called for, I was kind of using 3 different recipes LOL I will try yours next time though!

We have a tall lamp next to the rocking chair in the living room and he likes rocking it back and forth. So, that is our new issue. The water bowl is not much of an issue these days because for my sanity I had to start putting it up. I put it down during nap time, dinner time, and after he is in bed.

My parents censored absolutely nothing with me. Well, obviously porn and stuff wasn't allowed, but for regular movies, I could watch anything. The only thing I couldn't watch was Silence of the Lambs (and having watched it as an adult, I thank them for it.) Dh grew up without a tv, and even when they did get one, they had one television channel, so the station did the censoring for them! We're trying to come to an agreement about what our children will be allowed to watch, what is worth a fight and what isn't. I've decided to stop watching movies with my BIL and his kids. They will rent any movie and then censor things as they go. Problem is, if there's a swear word, he mutes it, but he always mutes too late, so we hear the swear, and then he mutes other dialogue so he needs to rewind to get what he missed, and we end up hearing the swear again! quote:
Jess you are a superwoman!! I think Mary was two months old the first time I baked something! Any day now I'll start baking!!!
