paulsbride -> Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 5:43:59 PM)

I am curious what other parents end up paying per diaper? (Yes... somewhat of a math question [8D])

What brand is it/where do you buy them?

ETA: I am referring to disposables. [8D]

Brandy -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 6:15:47 PM)

Jess I just bought two packs, our first ever [:)] and paid

$8 for 34 Sensitive Newborn by Huggies(?)
$8 for 40 Swaddles for Newborns by Pampers(?) I may have the brands swapped.

so $0.23 for the 34 ct and $0.20 for the 40 ct BEFORE tax.

That was on sale too. Can't wait to have buy tons of them. [8|]

Ellie-Mae -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 6:19:04 PM)

Brandy, I hope you don't end up having a 10 pound baby or you may not get to use all of those newborn diapers. They sure are cute though.[:D]

Brandy -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 6:23:16 PM)

Hush Ellie [8D] Right now she's no where near 10 pounds as of last visit and I have 4 wks to go!!

I did just look at a few places online and think I may go back to Target and get more packages in more sizes for the prices they had. 2 for 17 or 1 for 8 were most of the deals, with them being a few dollars more depending on what size you wanted.

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 6:36:10 PM)

IIRC, I pay about $.19 a diaper for the Member's Mark brand from Sam's and $.21 per diaper for Huggies, also from Sam's. White Cloud from Walmart were cheaper at $.16 a diaper for size 2's.

however, on another hand, it really doesn't have as much to do with weight as body build. Our 9lber was in N Pampers Swaddlers for at least a month.

we have cloth diapers, so we have the option of not having to rely on disposables, but we still do when the laundry is backed up or we just simply don't want to have to wash cloth right now. We switch back and forth all the time.
With the cloth we well paid for them a long time ago (cause we have used them for two babies now). They were expensive in the beginning (nearly $400 for the diapers with shipping), but it was worth it and eventually paid off...lol

For newborn we get Pampers Swaddlers...or have for the last two (our first two we used Huggies, but they did something to them in the few years between our girls and they made our third start breaking out...so we went with Pampers). For them we can get them for about the same price as Brandy said, so about .30 cents a diaper I guess.
For Jack (he wears a size 4) we use the cheap Wal-Mart brand....a package of his diapers works out to be less then $8...can't remember how many diapers it is in the package though.
For Emma we buy pull-ups for her to sleep in, and it works out to be about .35 cents per night.
For Jake we use good nights (or actually he is a big big for them so we have to get the "adult" diapers)...it works out to be about .40 cents a night.

Mrs.X -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 7:55:59 PM)

.19 cents for Jimmy. That's a box of Kirkland size 4 diapers 184 count.
.27 cents for Timmy's. That's 144 size 6 Huggies.

firefightermama -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 8:57:05 PM)

We use pampers, and I have a box of size 3's and a box of 4's

$.22 for the size 3
$.24 for the size 4

Brandy -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 8:58:16 PM)

Jess can I ask an amendment question?

Where do you all get your diapers?

LaurainAL -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 9:03:27 PM)

I buy diapers from diapers.com.

They have such an animal? You do a lot of web shopping, don't cha? [8D]

Good question [:)]

This week CVS diapers are buy 2 get 1 free.
Size 5 has 30 diapers and is $8.99.
So that would be 90 diapers for $18.

I plan on going in some day early this week before "my" deal stuff sells out [;)] But if they have everything in stock that I'm hoping they do I will be able to get the 90 diapers for $11.50 - which would be .12 cents/diaper.
I have coupons for some other items that are on sale which will give me $7.50 in overage, which is how I am getting them cheaper. I hope it works!

The CVS diapers are pretty good I think - and they have a no questions asked return policy if you don't like them, so it's a no fail test to try them out!
The buy 2 get 1 free isn't really a great deal for CVS unless you have coupons to bring the price down further. They sometimes run them for buy 1 get 1.

I was buying Walmart diapers before CVS, but don't remember what the price per diaper ended up being.

They have free shipping on orders over $50 and since I would have to drive at least 20 miles to the nearest Wal-Mart, it's a good thing for me. I may pay more per diapers, but I gladly do it for convenience sake. I loathe Wal-Mart.[:@]

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 10:48:05 PM)

I have some Huggies coupons if anyone wants them, just PM me.

MrsTracy72 -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 10:54:51 PM)

Ryanne, what a great idea. I keep coupons for friends that I know will use them. We should have a coupon exchange thread. Wouldn't that be cool? But It would be hard to keep track of.

I buy mine from Costco, but I was going to look at the prices for Timmy's Huggies at other places. Wal*Mart only sells them in packs, not boxes, so that's not enough for him for two weeks. It's hard to find size 6 in a box.

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/11/2008 11:47:27 PM)

Coupons are taken[:)]

PrincessDonna -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/12/2008 8:08:47 AM)

Depends on the sale and the coupon.[:D]

Last week, I bought two jumbo packages of Huggies @ $7.50 each, and had $1.50 coupons for each...so $6. $.176/diaper. I also bought two jumbo packages of Pampers @ $7.50 each, and had $2 coupons for each...so $5.50. $.161 per diaper.

Whenever Rite Aid has their BOGO sales, I use that price on White Clouds at Walmart. I've found I don't like RA diapers quality wise, but I do like White Cloud. Then I get a jumbo pack for $4.50...$.122 per diaper.

I rarely buy boxes of diapers, because as you can see, jumbo pack end up being cheaper for me, with sales and coupons. I NEVER pay full price for diapers because they are always on sale somewhere.

lexie -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/12/2008 11:47:17 AM)

I seem to pay a lot for diapers! The last box I bought, I payed $0.28 per diaper, and that is with a sale and a coupon!. I buy Huggies. We have tried the other available brands, but these seem to be the only ones that can handle my daughter.

Fully agree with this! My 17 month old daughter is wearing the same size as my 3 year old niece! My niece is skinny, and my daughter has a belly and butt!

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/12/2008 11:49:11 AM)

Yeah, Gabby and my 4yo neice would wear the same size if niece wasn't potty trained. Gabby has quite the J-Lo badonker.

Yup, our 25lb 22 month old recently grew up in height without gaining weight. This caused size 4 to be way to big, so we've moved her down to size 3. Our 20lb 3 month old is all chub and in size 4. Go figure.

I buy all my diapers at CVS now. After strategic couponing, I end up paying about $5 for each pack of size 4, 34 count diapers. That's about 15 cents per diaper.

dradynsmom -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/12/2008 3:59:08 PM)

We buy Parents Choice brand at Wal-Mart. We pay .15 cents per diaper. We used to buy pampers but when the Parents choice brand changed there type of tabs they are just as good as pampers and a whole lot cheaper. Also this is for size four - that makes a big difference in the amount for the price.

Georgia-Peach -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/13/2008 11:34:16 AM)

We use Pampers and depend on the store, sales price, and coupon I pay anywhere between 0.20-0.27 per diaper. I have never tried other brands because these worked for us and plus my MIL stocked us up them for the first 3 months. It's pricey, but they have never failed me so I am a loyal customer. I know they may not work for the next one, but hopefully they will.

every pampers bag we have ever bought also came with a coupon to use on the next bag....have you found that to be true of your packages too Chelle? (we haven't used that brand since we left Germany so I didn't know if it was just there or over here too)

Georgia-Peach -> RE: Cost Per Diaper (5/13/2008 9:05:39 PM)

For awhile I was finding coupons, but not so much anymore. I did get a free sample not long ago in one of the boxes for Oil of Olay body lotion. I do always seem to have coupons for Pampers though usually from the Sunday paper or in the mail which is nice.
