for middle school it was my Michael Jordan Jersey. I was such a huge fan I wore it all the time.

for highschool, I got bangs. And not even very thick ones, but they were the most annoying thing in the world. I felt like I was cutting them every day because they were getting in my eyes. Never again!!

after I came back from my honeymoon, I dyed my hair a really, really dark brown, it had been so long since I saw my original hair color, I thought it was the right color, and then I cut it to my chin and it was past my shoulder blade before. It actually looked good, but needless to say, I got pregnant on the honeymoon and before I found out, I was so upset that I did it. LOL. I was kinda hormonal. I cried when I messed up frying an egg, so I know it wasn't just the haircut

The other thing I have seen since then on another person that I thought was really bad, was this girl that was a receptionist at the dentist office wears thick white eyeliner around her entire eye. With no shadow or blending it or anything. It looked pretty bad

OH my goodness - really embarrasing - in 5th grade the spiked hair was in. My mom took me for a haircut and I told the lady I wanted it spiked. Well, apparently my mom took her to the side and said to do something else (like I would be fooled ). Anyway, I ended up with curls on top and a mullet!!!! Even if I had a pic, you wouldn't get one! LOL

Wearing waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much make-up as a teen!! What was I thinking?? I was blessed with a great complexion and I just caked on the foundation anyway! Too much eye make-up too.. Why didn't someone stop me? lol

My mom said she didn't stop me from wearing too much when I first started wearing makeup, because she knew it just takes time to experiment/learn. I certainly had plenty of things said to me AT school for wearing too much, though. So, maybe my mom shoulda stopped me. But she said she gave up on makeup altogether for a long time, because her mom was so hard on her at first, and she didn't want to do that to me.

Hmm, I'll bet none of you all wore "falsies" for your 8th grade picture like I did.

They didn't have much stuff for little kids hair than and my Mom didn't know what to do with it.It was such a poofball and looked like an afro.

People laugh when I tell them my 17 month old daughter has a line of hair products that we use each day. But her hair is an afro, and it needs to be done each day. And I certainly don't want her in a discussion like this 20 years from now saying "my mom didn't know what to do with my hair!"

Lol,I cringe when I look at some pictures of me as a kid.I am soo happy I have learned to manage my own hair.

Nope! I didn't need to. I was sure I was going to be the next Dolly... but I turned out normal... I just started before everyone else.

I was lucky to figure out how to care for my own hair from my Stylist in my 20's. My poor mother still either fixes her hair like whe's in the late 60s or it looks lanky.

I was the opposite of all of these.

My mom talked me into a disasterous perm in 9th grade but other then that I refused to curl my bangs, wear make up, or dye my hair. My hair has not really changed in 20 years (other than bangs or no bangs). This drove my mother crazy in high school and she was constantly yelling at me to do something with my hair (which meant curl it...she has curly hair).

Now I do some make up. A little cover up under my eyes helps a great deal. I wish I understood how to use yellow concealer back then but I don't remember that product being out.
