Off topic. You could start a thread, but it sounds boring, IMHO.

Likely older than you and your spouse combined.

Civil Rights

Civil rights have been around for a long time.

For example, the philosopher John Locke (1632–1704) argued that the natural rights of life, liberty and property should be converted into civil rights and protected by the sovereign state as an aspect of the social contract. Others have argued that people acquire rights as an inalienable gift from their creator or at a time of nature before governments were formed.

Sorry you are offended but I find it to be on-topic and as valid as any of yours.

Not offended, but, if you check the OP, it's about McCain.

And how would this make Civil Rights older than McCain?

Huh. And I thought McCain was only 15 years older than John Wesley.

I think he's 71 or 72.

My bad. I meant the Civil Rights Act and edited the post accordingly.

Maybe in your home, but not in general.

Indoor plumbing is actually quite ancient, and has been around in America for a far greater time than JM (since mid 19th century).

The first "modern" automobiles were produced by Karl Benz in 1893

Electric power began being publicly distributed by the Edison Electric Illuminating Company in 1882.

Still failing to demonstrate how John McCain isn't older.

???? I thought the thread was whimsically exploring those things younger than JM. Did I miss a memo?

Technically, it was a link to a website listing things that are younger. You didn't miss anything.

He's 70.
