ladyichigo -> RE: My Brother Is In the Hospital *UPDATE* (5/16/2008 8:43:45 PM)

I got more details about my brother's situation. He was born with two sinoatrial nodes (which is the heart's natural pacemaker). Growing up, during stressful situations, he had episodes of tachycardia. The doctors said they could do a simple procedure through the groin to remove the extra node, but he was afraid to have it done. So anyway, just this past week, he had a really bad episode where he couldn't breathe and almost collapsed and so he went to he hospital. The doctors did the procedure to remove the extra node, and it took 4 hours to do it, but apparently they didn't remove enough of it so he had another episode. They did the procedure again this time it took about an hour although they couldn't remove all of it, because they he would have to wear a pacemaker. Anyway, he was able to get discharged today, and is doing okay. He does still have a 10% chance of having another episode. My mother was told his condition isn't life threatening. Just uncomfortable when he does have the episodes. Thank you for all your prayers. Please continue to pray.
