I bought a domain name at the end of last month, and I was just wondering if someone would help me with my site? I'm just kind of making it like about my personal life, my love of Christ, my goals and dreams, etc. I'm not good with html and stuff like that, so I'd be willing to give the password to someone else so they could do the editing for me, if anyone would like to help, I would be so appreciative of that. Here's the site so far, and as you can see, I'm not very good at designing anything. www.jordanwoods.org

Have you tried the page wizards at yahoo.com and other building a web site helps. I am building one myself.

Nah I haven't. I'd just like to have someone that's skilled enough to do it help me. I mean I'd tell them exactly what I wanted and stuff, I just need someone to help me do it.

Why not spend some time learning HTML? There are free tutorials here:
http://w3schools.com/

If you really need someone to do it for you, local friends are probably a better place to ask than Internet forums ...

If you need advice or questions about what you're doing, posting here is fine.

When I visited your site I saw some of your html code on display instead of doing what you wanted it to. If you have "& lt ;" or "& gt ;" in your source there is no space between them, globally change them to the less-than or greater-than signs globally.

I would be willing to help you with the site. It would give me something to do during summer break (2 more weeks ) and it would help me practice with html some more. I am no expert but practice makes perfect. If you want to you can send me a personal message with the password and maybe we can build a plan for the site together. Then maybe we can both learn something.

Hi,

I'm sure the clever teckies will laugh at me ... I found a very old version of Frontpage and slowly but surely taught myself. Sometimes it takes me ages to do a page and then, having forgotten to save, I loose the lot.

But I'm getting there ... see the website below for examples of what you can achieve with Frontpage - even if you know nothing about computers like me.

*choke* *gasp*

Old versions of FrontPage are THE WORST ......

I had to use FP 98 at a job once and it botched up everything I wanted to do so bad it wasn't funny. The HTML it generated was bloated, hideously ugly, and was optimized for IE (at the expense of real browsers).

Also certainly an old version would not take advantage of recent web standards.

Just learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. If you're serious about websites, you'll be glad you did.

Any version of FrontPage will do for "THE WORST" candidates.

I agree. HTML isn't all that hard, and CSS is great, if not the best for laying out pages.

Re: OP
Jordan, I'm starting a Web design business, so if you want, you can drop me a PM, and we can negotiate something.
Whether you choose to do it yourself or have someone else do it, let me recommend that you use CSS for layout instead of tables. You can get similar, more adaptive results that look great in all browsers.
I wish you well on your site.
