rlj -> Jesse Ventura to run for Senate (5/17/2008 2:07:21 PM)

I just read this:

quote:

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Former Gov. Jesse Ventura said he "may" file the necessary papers to run for the U.S. Senate in the November election.

If he doesn't, his former campaign manager will.

Both are hinting at a run against Republican incumbent Norm Coleman and likely Democratic candidate Al Franken this fall. The only question seems to be: Will it be Ventura, or the man who helped him become governor?

I'll pray for my fellow Crosswalk readers from Minnesota. ; )

This is unlikely to have any impact on the Senate race because in the year 2000 the state legislature passed a law that doesn't allow people to vote while intoxicated; we have a little breathalizer that we have to blow into before we can pick up a ballot.

Are you implying that Minnesota has so many alcoholics (not in recovery) that they took over the state in whatever year it was that "The Body" got electied? Then you would have us believe that Minnesotans then discovered AA? None of this would have happened if the Vikings hadn't moved indoors.

We was drunk when we let Jesse in. So was he. We stayed drunk the whole 4 years. Now we can drink Tequila by the case with him. He lives in Mexico?

The Vikings get drunk alot too. I know I used to get drunk with some of them. My sister is married to an Ex-Vike.

The world was thrown off balance when the Vikings moved indoors in 1982. It created a little-known force (consistent with Chaos Theory) that we now call The Tarkenton Effect. The short-term impact was the 1982 NFL player strike, the Colts going winless and their quarterback going to prison, the start of the USFL in 1983, etc. Long-term effects have been far worse (e.g., the demise of the Oakland Raiders, the uniform change by the New England Patriots, not to mention demonic forces like Steve Spurrier and Bill Belichek).

Political havoc has been worsening with the elections of Bill Clinton and his alter ego, George W. Bush. Then there's the weather .......

My world was thrown off when they lost to the Alanta Falcons in a NFC Championship game.

And they passed the bad karma on to the Falcons via the Mike Vick affair.

Wasn't it Jesse himself who claimed rather (in)famously on the Tonight Show that the streets of St. Paul were planned by a drunken Irishman?

We are just great celebrators of democracy; that year we began celebrations a wee bit too early.
