Idiocracy Finally... I have the opportunity to see what the whole hype is all about--albeit in a more low-key level. Anyway, I can see how satirically funny Mike Judge's movie is, if not potentially offensive (depending of course, who we're talking about[;)]), but my only beef, if you will is... <SPOILER ALERT!> ...when the film features a futuristic take on Fox News Channel, though when I finally have a chance to sit down, think outside of my routine/knee-jerk tendencies, I was reminded of the fact that for a cable news channel reputed to be a conservative lapdog, it's also the same network owned and operated by the same Rupert Murdoch, whom according to some well-versed media pundits, had a known record to display "curious politics," like supporting then-PM Tony Blair (i.e. a Clinton-esque, left-leaning British politician), or even investing in TV shows that seems to be libertarian at best or at worst. But back from tangent, I think the whole moral behind Idiocracy is that maybe the reason why we could speculatively be heading towards a moronic dystopia is not so much dumb people over-producing, it's just that smart people (at least in the Susan Jacoby brand) are advocating dumb policies--er, I mean not producing enough, i.e. population control![8D]
