Thanks! The extended shot is me sitting in the doorway of a tomb in a local cemetery, but I couldn't downsize the whole thing and maintain the clarity. The more I think about it, the more I like DiG! I think I'm going to buy it for a few friends. "Dig started off as a terrific collection of live performances but then became something much more powerful and intriguing. Through the picture, we see everything from tension between bandmates, to bitter rivalries, to violent antics during live shows to nasty drug habits. This is an intimate document of these bands - warts and all." "In that way, Dig! works both as a cautionary tale for the industry and for musicians who think drugs, jealousy and egotism won’t get in the way of creativity. By the end, most everyone looks the fool. Newcombe is without many allies, Taylor still has label issues, and commerce won again." There is, of course, alcohol and drug usage, profanity, and one brief shot of non-sexual nudity. IE, rock and roll!

I have never really enjoyed any of them except Almost Famous.

Why not? I enjoyed Almost Famous, but it wasn't really about a band, and it was a bit sacchari -schmaltzy. What other band movies are there...well, the Doors was pretty well done. I watched a documentary on the Stones that had some interesting bits, and one on the Who - neither are bands I listen to, much like this documentary - but, unlike those docs, this one had a story line, and wasn't just random footage.

Just got back from seeing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... ...and though fans of the books might despise it (I haven't read it, yet), as a movie I found it hilarious. So there.

Well, although I didn't really want to, I just saw xXx: State of the Union, and while it might just be my extremely low expectations, I think it managed to cross over into the "so bad it's good" category. The whole thing was just so ridiculous that you just have to sit back an laugh at it all.

Just saw Tron, in all it's 1982 splendor. [har] It was pretty good, though I think they skimped on having a thicker plot because they believed the graphics [which I liked] would carry the movie [sounds like the second & third Matrix movies] Typical 80s acting, but very imaginative.

Thank you for some recommendations from some posters to watch 'I am David' We rented the DVD and this movie was one of the best I've seen lately. I love this movie and now been telling friends and family to rent it as well.

"Darkness" Very, very stupid. Sure, it had it's scary moments, but no plot to speak of - it just goes nowhere. And the "special features" on the DVD - even dumber. The "behind the scenes" is about 4 minutes long, and basically is little more than a preview of the movie. It was as if about half-way through production, they just said, "oh, forget it" and just threw some stuff together just to finish it. Very, very stupid.

Actually had a story line!!!!!!!. What is up with Vin Deasel not doing sequals? I think he did one sequal but that its it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Fast and the Furious, he didn't do the sequel because he wanted more money than they wanted to pay him, there isn't really word on why he didn't do this one, maybe the script was even worse before they wrote him out and wrote Ice Cube in. As it is, the sequel that he did do, Chronicles of Riddick, wasn't very good and made me nostalgic for the Cold War because sci-fi was much better when all of the bad guys were thinly veiled representations of the USSR. In that one, the bad guys were pretty clearly (at least to me) representing militant Islam in particular and militant religious extremism in general, and it just doesn't make for nearly as good a story.

I just watched "The Usual Suspects". I reallly enjoyed it. Kevin Spacey was outstanding in this movie. There was some violence and language. A different type of movie.

I have that DVD. Yeah, a bit heavy in the language department, but the twists in the story was well played out.. great cast...

We saw Lemony Snickett late last week too..but since my hubby was the only one who hadn't seen it before, I didn't post earlier. Hubby loved it, though, because he is a BIG Jim Carey fan. I loved the kids too. The older two are so deadpan, and the baby, LOL...the expressions they got out of her!

I saw Kung Fu Hustle. This really could have been a PG-13 movie if they didn't use the f-word more than 2 or 3 times. It was actually really fun to watch.

I rented The Exorcist: The Beginning. Once again, the sequel (or prequel in this case) just doesn't come close to the original. Had a couple cheap scares but overall it was lame. Watched another flick called The Brood. This is from 1979, but it was pretty freaky and still held up rather well. Of course anything by David Cronenberg is twisted.

I watched Friday Night Lights. It was "a football movie." Aside from being based on a true story, nothing stands out about it - not true, the sdtk. was amazing. And I'm still watching DiG!, with all the commentaries.
