I miss coloring! Every once in a while my kids will ask me to color with them, or I will just start coloring in one of their books. It is very relaxing! I also love to swing. For those of you who posted that you hated your childhood I am so sorry. I would suggest that you think of something that you would have loved to do as a child and do it. Every child should have at least one good memory of an activity. I also miss taking walks to the mini neighborhood grocery store with my grandma.

Exactly what Lexie said...waking up and going right outside, only coming in for meals. Sometimes my mom would even leave a little picnic lunch for my friends and me on the front step or back porch so we wouldn't have to come inside. Our usual activities consisted of soccer baseball (snow soccer in the winter), red rover, wall ball and four corners...the most simplistic games ever! Oh how I miss being a kid!

I, too, love the smell of Crayola crayons! Play-doh too. They bring back happy memories. How I loved my Barbies, Holly Hobbie Playhouse, paper dolls, etc. I guess the thing I miss the most is my bosom buddy, Kim. She and I were like sisters all throughout childhood. We did everything together from age 2 until we were about 13, and she moved. We caught lightning bugs, played hide 'n seek, kickball, brushed each other's hair, did sleep overs, visited each other's relatives, played Monopoly and Payday for endless hours, ate popcicles in the summer, played in the snow in the winter, dreamed of what it would be like to be adults, and rode our bikes.

Yuck, the smell of play-doh makes me want to throw up. I do not let my kids play with play-doh near me. I also remember sitting in the kitchen as a child and watching my Maw Maw (Grandmother) cook. She is pure Italian & is such a wonderful cook. She doesn't cook now because of her health. After cooking many years for 17 kids, plus her nieces, nephews, kids friends, and grand kids she deserves a break from cooking. All of her children (now grown) are wonderful cooks. When she made meatballs she would make about 10 dozen. When she stuffed artichokes she would stuff about 30. Ummm Ummmm Ummmm, I am hungry now

I had a pretty miserable childhood... but the things that I missed out on that I would love to go back and do are as follows: -colouring (my parents never let me because they thought it made kid less creative) -barbies -playing outside all day and not having to come in until bedtime!

I grew up on a farm. I miss - -swimming in the pond and irrigation ditch -catching crawdads -wading in the pond after perch -catching grasshoppers and throwing them to the perch -using my cow as a backrest to read a book in the pasture -making my Barbies dive into and swim in the irrigation ditch -collecting eggs -playing with the goat kids and the lambs -making pretend cities in the big roots of the big trees by the creek...with chunks of bark, acorns, long willow leaves, and stuff -my favorite goat Mia who was my best friend (really, she was!)

Playing dress-up. Always loved doing this, every part of it. Such as I got involved with costuming plays in college and that was wonderful. It's one of the reasons I like watching shows like America's Next Top Model is that it's fun checking out the snazzy outfits they sometimes get put into. And sadly nowadays being *grown-up,* it might seem a little odd if one were to go swooshing around in colorful, poofy dresses with a sparkly tiara on their head, or copying a cat get-up from the Cats musical, or go tapping around in a fringe-covered flapper dress, etc. I would say I miss Barbies, because I had a lot of fun playing with them with friends when I was younger. But in the past few years, with my love of costuming, I've taken my old ones I had stored away and have been attempting to make them elaborate gowns and such (inspired from those ads of fancy dolls seen in magazines and Sunday paper circulars). So it's like a recycled Barbie playing, hee.

- Playing army with any form of awesome gadgets. Walkie talkies own! - Trying to blow up dolls using snappers. I think the furthest I got was making a black mark on their back. - Wrestling. It's what happens when you grow up watching the WWF. - Playing Power Rangers. I was always Tommy and my friend was Jason. We appeared to be defeated, only to come back at the end of the day and defeat the nemesis. Very accurate to the television show. - Building blocks with my grandpa, and then throwing them at him afterwards. - Driving my "ugly ol' jeep" and running into basketball poles with it. - Somersaulting into televisions. As you can tell, I revel in violence.
