OK,
My Fiance' and I are trying to find a nice Verse to put in our invitations and just feel like we are going in circles so I am hoping to get some good ideas.
I am 25 and she is 22 and we will be getting married September 5th!
Thanks in advance!
Jimmy

Good day for a wedding! That is my anniversary!! The first verses that comes to mind is
1 Corinthians 13:3-5. These are very popular verses. You might have thought of these already but like I said that is what came to my mind first. Sorry I can't think of anything else right now.[sm=aside.gif][sm=aside.gif]

Congratulations.

I also like the above recommendation. Another is Ecc. 4:9-12.

Habakkuk 3:17Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
18(E) yet I will rejoice in the LORD;
(F) I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
19GOD, the Lord, is my strength;
(G) he makes my feet like the deer’s;
he makes me(H) tread on my(I) high places.

or
1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

ta_mosquito -> RE: Verse for invitations (6/5/2008 8:06:36 PM)

This is my beloved, and this is my friend.

Song of Solomon 5:16

But be sure to make sure it's in the "right" version (King James, New King James, New American Standard, etc.) since other versions (NIV, etc.) have "this is my lover, and this is my friend" which, in today's vernacular, would be a bit out of place...

Here's some I liked:

"Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."
Proverbs 16:3

Love knows no limit
to its endurance,
no end to its trust.
Love still stands
when all else has fallen.
1 Corinthians 13:7-8

I have found the one whom my soul loves.
Song of Solomon 3:4

The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
Psalm 126:3

God is love, and whoever dwells in love
dwells in God.
1 John 4:16

I hold you in my heart, for we have
shared together God's blessings.
Philippians 1:7

Hey, we used that one, too! <high fives Szaftoo>

How about Song of Solomon 4:16? I love that picture. You might have to leave off the last line for the more squeemish wedding guests.

Congrats, Jimmy - have a wonderful wedding and happy ever after!
