I've seen your picture and you are not bad looking at all.
You get more replies when your picture is posted. Apparently people want to see who they are talking to.
If a guy is looking for a certain type of woman, and you don't match that, he may talk to you but once he sees that you don't match he'll (normally) disappear. That's not a judgement of you, you're just not what he was looking for. The people you want to talk to are the ones who are looking for you not for someone else.
Every woman is beautiful to some man. Whether she's a size 2 or a size 42. Whether she's blond brunette or bald. Whether she's 4'2" or 6'10". Every woman is beautiful.
Just find the ones who find you beautiful. And one step to that is put your picture on your profile.

I agree with John. I didn't typically look at a profile if it didn't have a pic. (I was one that did like to see who I was talking to.) And, everyone is beautiful to someone, like John said. Just gotta find that right someone, or that right someone's gotta find you. ;)

Yeah, I didn't look at profiles without pictures, either. I was just having one of those self-depracating, pitty moments. I don't guess you can get any worse than 0  . Hhaha.
