Pat-rebel_lady -> What would you do with… (6/5/2008 2:02:35 PM)

Our Two year old Refrigerator/Freeze died Tuesday afternoon; Freeze compartment has been no cooler than 25, and Refrige compartment 55 degrees. They had to order part and it will be tomorrow at the least before it is repaired.
We used every Cooler we had on hand, including the freezer, packed with ice; however, I had no room to put the open things on my Refrige door; Would you count them as spoiled or what?
Things like: Parmesan Cheese, Worcestershire Sauce, Soy Sauce, Mustards, Ketchup, BBQ & Steak Sauces, Chili Sauce, dressings, Jams & jellies, can milk, Tatar Sauce, Tiger Sauce, and etc.

Thanks,
Pat

Check your labels. If they don't say "Refrigerate after opening" you should be all right. I never put ketchup in the fridge, there's nothing on the label that says I need to and I've survived 50+ years so far.

I hate cold ketchup.

But otherwise, what Bill says [:)]

Anything like mayo and tartar I would probably chuck.. might turn out to be a good thing if it happened to me.. I can't remember the last time I bought some of the fridge door items. hmm.

Put the refrigerator items in the freezer compartment for the time being.

Thanks Everyone, that was a help.

I squeezed in everything that I could. A few things semi-froze but upon thawing I found they separated; like the Tatar Sauce & Tiger Sauce; so I pitched them.

Thanks about the Ketchup info. I never knew that; I was pretty sure I was okay with Jellies & Jams though.

Anyway, Thanks, Everyone, again for your help.

Pat
