On another note, I believe I once read or heard that when The Guiding Light started out (on radio), it was actually a storyline about a pastor and his church flock. Can anyone else confirm that?

LOL, there was a pastor as part of the original series. Apparently it has a pastor on it today too. A long running character became a pastor in the last year on the show.

Except, he (Josh) divorced his wife (Reva) when unbeknownst to him she had cancer and kept going out of town for treatment (and for some stupid reason didn't want to tell him), and then he messed around with his wife's sister (Cassie) and subsequently married her. Not to mention that he decided to be a pastor and went through school and became ordained and got a job in all in about 3 months (must have been an online ordination, I guess). And his current wife has already cheated on him.

IRL, I'm not sure even a Unitarian "church" would want to hire a pastor who had just divorced his wife and married her sister.

I'm not sure I would call TV in the daytime or at night evil...but soap operas are just dumb and they'll rot your brain.

For the past couple of years, I've been watchin Days of our Lives and frankly, it's been getting quite boring
The writers don't know what they're doin anymore
but there is still some exciting moments on the show!
