Well- cowboy boots really are only sensible for cowboys and cowgirls.
I only wear mine when I'm pretending to be a cowgirl. That's pretty sensible, I think.

I love cowboy boots!!!!!!! They are some of THE most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. It was a must when I lived in TX. And truth be told - I'd get some here in FL, but it's just too hot.

the last day of our CDL training, our group of 4 students (2 men and 2 women) and 1 instructor all went for a 3 hr drive. we all took turns. well...the other woman and i had had the SAME idea that morning and both of us wore high heels (mine were 3-1/2" stillettos, of course). the men didn't think i could do it...but i did! and when i parked that big boy at the truck stop and got out to walk into the restaurant...a bunch of drivers that had been watching the student driver-plastered truck all started honkin their air horns. it was a riot!!!! (i curtsied and waved, of course  )
Weird Al sings a song called "Driving a Truck" where its this really deep manly voice singing about driving his semi while wearing high heels. Pam, you now have that song stuck in my head every time I look at this thread. I hope you're satisfied. 
Ohmigosh! I was thinking the exact same thing! It doesn't help that the Things were wearing my shoes the other day being silly (and Thing 1 was happy that we're in the same size shoe now!) and Thing 2 was singing, "Drivin' a truck...with my high heels on..." *giggle*

Does anyone else like Skechers? I think they make a sensible shoe. Most styles are too casual for a job interview, but probably not a date. Hmm... depends on the date maybe.

i have a pair of skechers. after they were about a year old, they became my driving shoes. they just slip on and are soooo comfortable! (i don't think they're worth paying full-price for, tho!)

Ok, I have seen this thread around for at least a few days now and finally decided to click on it, and happy that I did! Anyway, what kind of shoes make an impression? High Heels and ballet flats and pumps, positive impression for a date. Crocs, sneakers, etc, bad impression for a date instead.

Yep, I find skechers to be among some of the most comfortable shoes made. But I agree, I wouldn't pay full price either... but then just about the only things I do pay full-price for are gas and food.

I agree with Mike, I am not a fan of Crocs. And I hear they get caught in escalators too!

Making a mental note not to wear crocs near escalators. Oh wait, I don't even wear crocs. Nevermind. I'm safe.
Speaking of sneakers, does anyone know why we call them sneakers? Where did that originate?

Shema, I used to have a pair of shoes that had pockets on them so you could save money in them. Saving money is pretty sensible too, isn't it!?
