This also applies to the Big Bang Theory. In spite of our common perceptions of "order," a solar system actually represents a higher entropic (i.e. lower-ordered) state than would the cloud of particles from which it came. By coalescing into planets and stars, that matter releases more than enough energy into space (i.e. increasing the overall entropy) to compensate for any localized increases in order.

For goodness sake, the most dead horse of all (not to mention absurdly fallacious):

Evolution is just faith!

Suggestion: Perhaps, the best way to direct this thread would be to edit the OP as people add their thoughts, so we have one master list at the top.

Talk Origins also has a huge list of creationist claims (most of them are dead horses), along with explanations as to what makes them bogus. http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/list.html

ID is a just another form of creationism is a dead horse.

I disagree with calling evolution “just a theory” and have stated so many times in this forum.

Calling evolution a theory is giving it far too much credit. At best it is a poorly supported hypothesis.
Theories have empirical support. Evolution has absolutely NO empirical support.

Creationism is the worldview that our understanding of the universe should be founded on the truths revealed in Scripture.
ID is based on the principle that design implies a designer.

The purpose of creationism is to proclaim the authority of Scripture.
The purpose of ID is to demonstrate the existence of a designer through the use of scientific procedure.

Come on Jack! You can’t see how those two are identical?

Dead horse.

If a fact that falls on deaf ears is a “dead horse” then I agree. However, I don’t think that ignoring facts makes them “dead horses”.
Keeping your head in the sand is the only way to maintain that evolution is a valid theory, but hey, you are free to believe what ever you want.

There are certainly enough creationists that masquerade as IDists that give ID a very bad image of dis-ingenuousnesses.

Following that logic then because so many cults are masquerading as Christian then Christianity is just another cult. Do you think Christianity is just another cult?

i don't believe in slippery slope logic; whether Christianity is just another cult should be proven on its merits.

However, it can hold. Cults that masquerade as Christian give Christianity a bad image.

The thing that makes these threads worthless is there is no objective judge of such things. As soon as anyone opposed to evolution points out something that is trite, tired, and fairly uselss as a point, some mindless evolutionist beats the dead horse again.

It's atheists and evolutionists who are stuck on stupid here.

You're absolutely right Jack, and it's too bad they fail time after time to realize this.

What if the results are contradictory?

You tell us. What evidence, if found, would be contradictory to scripture where biodiversity is concerned?

Definition of biodiversity: "The diversity of plant and animal life in a particular habitat (or in the world as a whole)"

I don't understand if there could be any evidence found that would contradict scripture where biodiversity is concerned, which is why I asked him that question. I have to say I'm a bit confused, hence my question...
