I believe some of it also has to do with standards in the work place relaxing. I don't know how it is for everyone else, I am only going by my experiences but I have not been in a job yet where I have been required to wear a suit and tie and I'm an accountant. Sure, I work in the private sector but talking to others I know, a lot of businesses have moved in this direction regarding dress in the workplace.

ORIGINAL: 1970rodney Hey 6ft 4inch fat boys have a hard time finding nice clothes to! Seems the clothing people think if your that height you should have a 30inch or smaller waist. Also you arms should be 13 inches long. Man I hate buying a 3x shirt and raising my arms only to have the sleeves shoot up past my elbows! I feel your pain, though in the opposite direction. I wear 28 inseam pants. 30s drag the ground. I'm 5' 9", which is actually considered to be the precise average height of an adult male in the United States according to this Wikipedia entry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height The ratio of my inseam to my overall height must be considerably less than average. What would a 5' 5" guy with a similar ratio do? It's seems like Sears, Belk, JC Penney, Levis, Dockers, Wrangler, etc. have collectively assumed all men in the US have inseams of 30" or 32"...with VERY few exceptions. Once in a while, I can find a 29" inseam pair on the shelf, but I have to go through the entire inventory in my waist size (which I will refrain from mentioning at this juncture). Blair sells men's twill pants online in a 28" inseam, but I've found the quality of their products is always lower than most other name brands. Anyone else have a similar problem shopping for clothes? I don't wear a suit( trying to avoid all that again) but for Nice casual clothes we have a place in Cleveland Tn called Hixsons and they measure you. Then they fit you from there. I've not been disappointed yet. Yeah it cost a bit more but The stores you just mentioned are trying to sell clothes to a bunch of young male models apparently. I could go online but feel that might be a risk also. I still kinda like to try it on before I buy it.

With my 20" neck I buy my dress shirts from Casual Male XL. They carry a brand called George Forman that has the collar button on an expansion tab that make them very comfortable when singing and they are also extra long so they don't easily come untucked from my pants as I'm moving around and raising my arms as I sing. They have stores in Chattanooga and Atlanta(Morrow) and also have a website. I still my 40"x 32" slacks off the rack just about anywhere but Casual Male XL is my shirt store. In fact my kids gave me a gift card from there for Father's Day that I've got to go use.

I also buy alot of my clothes at Casual Male XL. I like those George Forman shirts. They also have a George Forman dress slack but I can usually only fine them with a pleated front which make no sense at all since that only draws attention to an area that is already to large. They carry a brand of jeans that will fit me and hold up well. I buy my suits at Men's Wearhouse. They carry large sizes but while the coat fits well the pants are the largest size let out all the way. They do alterations on site and you can get your suit pressed for free at any of their locations.

I've gotten a few suits from Men's Wearhouse. That's a great place! I am a tie fanatic! Anywhere I can find goodlookin ties is where I'll be!..lol I also like the shirts that call for cuff links. I think it is a classy look...not all the time...but sometimes.

I've been following your posts on here bassinger and I want to let you know that you were right in everything you said. I know you are a true man of God just by watching you in concert and seeing how you deal with people off-stage. YOu really do care about those people and their problems. If you can remember, I came to you in N.C. and told you about some problems I was having. I told you that the song you wrote has been a tremendous help to me and that I listen to it when I am at my lowest. You prayed with me right there in the foyer of that church! No one had ever done that for me! Thank you for what you do and all the Old Paths. All of you are one of a kind and I'll be a fan for life...God Bless you!

I like Men's Wearhouse. The staff is usually knowledgeable and attentive and the clothes are reasonably priced for the quality. Where they get you is the cost of alterations.

Thank you so much perryfan. I remember the time I prayed with someone in North Carolina but I can't remember a name. I hope you don't get mad at me..I see alot of people each week! lol How are you doing? Is everything ok? If you are the person I am thinking of then you were struggling with an illness that scared you quite a bit. I understand if you don't wanna talk about it here but you can always P.M me. Thanks again for the kind words!
