Anecdotal evidence is not scientific evidence. The fact that a particular person (or group of people) both use cell phones and have tumors means nothing. The fact that some people have ringing/tingling/etc when using their cell phone means nothing.

I don't think peoples personal expereinces mean nothing nor that they equate to nothing. I think they are alarming and should be taken seriously.

My suggestion of earpieces for free was simply a suggested strategy by which the industry could perhaps redeem themselves in some way. Prehaps a protective cover would be a better suggestion.

I think that people are way more precious than money and that some corporations do not hold principle as general rule by which to conduct their business.

I also think that peoples expereinces should be regarded and included in conclusive studies.

I haven't got links to this footage which was shown and which prompted me to begin this discussion . I am well aware that I am a small voice in the face of a giant and that one or two persons expereinces may not be regarded as a conclusive study.

I have a Heinemann Australian Dictioary and in it anecdotal is a "short, interesting or amusing story about a particular person or event"

I do not regard someones report of a tumour as being short, interesting nor amusing, rather alarming, serious and deadly.

If you are going to keep saying that the corporations and big businesses are hiding the truth about cell phones from us, then you need to produce some evidence of that. Otherwise it is merely a conspiracy theory.

here is one

this is not a conclusive study but does assert breaks in DNA cells from mobile ph usage

this too is not conclusive evidence but even though studies are not concluded there is still cause for concern

this study is quite old and I am sure other studies have been conducted since

another study which is also non conclusive nevertheless alarming because of DNA breaks from mobile ph radiation

This evidence alone is a warning for us to be cautious about how we use our phones. Even though studies are not concluded it does not mean we should ignore this evidence, which for me is cause for concern.

Wiki link for corporate crime

I don't have to mention most of the drugs which are sold and who they come from to make my point. Besides this is not what this is about.

Suffice to say many corporations have been guilty of producing massive waste which has ruined our planet with its waste. Whale slaughtering for money means the whole echo system will be out of whack as they face extinction because of money. I do not believe the majority of corporations have our wellbeing at heart and that their own danger is obscured by their greed.

Mobile ph may be found to be dangerous. Don't rely on the industry to care about your health because their primary focus is their own wealth.

That's all I have to say. Thanks for listening.

Giulia, none of the links support your statement that Big Corporation is hiding evidence about cell phones from the public. I found a statement in one article where the companies said there was no conlusive evidence, and they are right! I myself can get online and find thousands of articles and blogs about the danger of cell phones, your theory is not being hidden!

As far as the corporations ruining our eco system and forcing us into extinction, well let's say that is a statement I strongly disagree with but this is not the right thread to be getting into that discussion on.

FWIW, I get this sensation, too. But I don't believe it's from radiation. I've got a sensitive part of my body (my ear) pressed up against an electronic device (which could get hot) for a long period of time. What happens if you hold an ipod up to your ear for a half-hour?

quote:

I experience it.
I think there are some people, like me or Giulia, that do have these symptoms.
The dull achy, burning, and tingling sensation in my head around the ear area.
It's very uncomfortable feeling and I get it after prolonged cell phone use, at least 30 minutes.
I know a lot of people here are skeptical, but I know what I feel and I've talked to others that also experience this that get a helpless, frustrated feeling when people don't believe them when they say they are pretty sure it's their cell phone causing these sensations.
I've had people tell me it's all in my head, but obviously it's not as I have experienced these weird sensations.

How about using a regular traditional phone? Does the same thing happen to you when using a regular phone for prolonged periods of time as well?

I don't know but they sure say "like" a lot!!!

Are you from California?

This worries me only because I use my cell phone on a regular basis. At least once a day. But I'm sure my usage would have to be a whole lot worse than what it is now, in order for me to get cancer.
