I do look in the Mens Only folder once in awhile. But since I can't post it isn't any fun.

Okay, I will admit I went looking for the woman bashing in the men's only folder but I only found men being good guys. I didn't look in the uber personal men's folder.

The few times I have ventured into the men's domain I have occassionally found nuggets of fun that I pass onto m'love.

Sometimes men and women can even learn something from reading the other folder, providing that you use good will and common sense.

My (rare) forays into the Women Only folder have been mostly accidents (clicked the here when I tried to click there because some internet cafe mouses have issues, or clicked on someone's recent posts and landed in Women Only). Sometimes the title listed as the Last Post was a partial and made no sense, so I clicked, read the title and left.

So ethically, should we try not to even read the folder set aside for the other gender?
I don't bother going into the men's folders. I've posted threads before about 'personal' stuff and, while I appreciate I can't stop a man from reading it, I'd like to think the majority of Christian men would respect the fact that it is in a woman's folder and stay away ~ just as I respect the men's folder.

I agree and try to stay out of there. Sometimes I wind up seeing a thread title appear and without realizing it, I'm in the Men's folder. Once I find out that is where I'm at, I leave. Sometimes I don't figure that out until I'm at the bottom of the page.

All the same, I don't normally go to the Women Only folder. A guy could get hurt there

some of it isn't very nice, and isn't uplifting to Christian women in any way whatsoever...

Whoa!!! We like honesty! Don't stop being honest!

I personally enjoy hearing men's opinions. Hence why I have more guy friends than girlfriends.

You mean you guys are all being honest with each other in there? I think everything in cyberspace needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Although I am honest with my posts, I am careful about what I say. Nothing like opening your thoughts out to the whole world....from Atlanta to Greece and every lurker in between.

If you think that the Men's only posts here are hard to take, posters in "the world" can be harder to stomache sometimes, of both genders.

I have combed through the Women Only folder looking for man bashing and haven't found any. That doesn't mean there hasn't ever been any, just that there is none now. (Or something perceived as man bashing.) If a man read in there and got his feelings hurt, that is unfortunate.

As for reading in the Men Only folder, I perused that as well this morning and came away with some gems. One guy wants a thread on surviving women's mood swings or women's whining.

There's an entire thread on what turns you off about women and includes things like:
1) being overweight (half a dozen references)
2) feminism
3) democrat
4) prissiness
5) too many opinions
6) gives advice
7) wears jeans
8) shows cleavage
9) has a promiscuous past

There are two more threads on what makes a woman attractive or should make a woman attractive.

This was all on the first page.

Now understand, men, that women are bombarded all day long, every single day, from the time they are born until the time they die with images of what they should look/act/be like. Christian women expect their Christian brothers to build them up and look at them for who they are, not for who the world says they should be. It is very disconcerting to see so many "Christian" men act the same way--and sometimes worse--than non-Christian men. It is also disconcerting to observe a Christian man acting as such all over the board...until they get to Men Only. There are some exceptional men on this site--men who accept women as made in the image of Christ and who will defend them to other men. But there are days that it appears these men are waaaaaay in the minority.

Edited to add that I don't make it a habit of reading in Men Only, but as other posters have said, it is easy to find yourself in there unawares.

Some of the things that turn men off would turn me off, too. The others are simple preferences. No harm there. Women have those, too.
As far a wanting to know how to deal with a woman's mood swings, I see nothing but a light hearted way to voice a common frustration that men have.
Do we have a thread on how to deal with a man's obsession with his hobbies?

I still think these are good guys just acting like guys, not women.

Edited: I still only look at a few posts in there and never the Uber Personal Men's Only Thread.

I have never read the Women only folder. I have had two wives, two daughters and nowhave two granddaughters. I am familiar enough with female issues.

I don't read the Men only folder because I am a man and I have some of those same issues. If I don't already have them I don't want to know about them. I have enough of my own.

I was gonna post in this thread, but I read this post and it's me. Now I don't hafta. Thanks, Qtman!
