Was kinda nerve racking but give the bullpen credit. They pitched I think 11 scoreless innings.

Yeah...poor Brian McCann came off the bench on his "off" day to end up catching 10 innings!

Gary, did you finish the cookies? How did they compare heat-wise to how you make them?

I din't intend to give them all to you, but with all the kids there I was afraid to pass them out. I'm sure the kids ould want them, but I don't think they could have handled the heat.

I am still eating them. You did a good job with the recipe. And I always warn people when I serve them. I don't want to spring that kind of a surprise on people.

What did they have in them???
My kids are use to eating hot stuff...we eat a lot of Mexican and other spicey food but I do watch the sugar and caffiene intake by both...that's why older one didn't get to have the GCC this time!!!

Lynn, basically they are chocolate chip cookies with cayenne pepper in it. I used the amount Gary's recipe called mild, and couldn't finish one.

Why would you ruin a perfectly good Chocolate chip cookie with cayenne pepper???? Cayenne pepper has it's place in the world of fine cuisine but not in chocolate chip cookies!!!!

Thanks for dropping by. To say the least, you made the day!! We really enjoy meeting with you and Mrs C. Dollywood was almost too much for the littlest grandkids. Sorry we missed church. We had a bunch of way too tired little ones. Next time it's just adults we will join you.

We kept looking for y'all. Sorry you could not make it but understand. We enjoyed seeing all of you at Tony;s on the 4th. Good fellowship and food. Cookies and C. rolls delicious. Thank you so much.

Lynn, guess you are right, we did run everybody off with our baseball talk.

Very nerve racking but exciting game. Many good defensive plays.

That's for sure!! I started going to my first MLB games while living in Houston...when they played the Braves...so they are kind of my 2nd team but not when the Braves are playing!!!! Most of the players we followed have now retired or moved on...Biggio, Bagwell...
I remember the last game I went to before moving away from Houston...the last season they were in the Astrodome...Smoltz was starting and Javy Lopez owned them that night...he hit a couple homeruns. It was a great game...we took Ryan with us...he was only 2 weeks old!!!

Missed a few people who went to bed...bummer.

We got interested in tonight's episode of Extreme Home Makeover. They rebuilt a house for a Marine who lost a leg in Iraq. He's raising 4 kids by himself. It was a tear jerker.

That was in Kansas City. I remember when they were doing the work here, the ABC station had it on the news every night.

They went back a few months after they were finished and the family is doing well.

Seen that one seems like I remember his wife left him or something didn't she?

We're around 90º today and for the next 7 days. It's hot enough for sure.

I missed that part (was making bowls of ice cream for us at the time). Hubby said they were divorced, but he didn't say why.

Mercy, can you imagine being left with 4 kids?

The Cubbies took 2 out of 3 from the Cardinals in St. Louis. Should have been 3 of 3, with yesterday's blown save.

Sat here in my chair at computer and dozed off. Not much palavering going on at that time. Glad to see some are back.

Today's game was fun to watch. Glad we were at Dollywood during yesterday's game.

Hubby was sure to tell me that "my boyfriend" blew the save. I said "I just might have to break up with him this time...nah!"

And how cool is it that we have so many All-Stars this year???
