Thanks, brother but she can also be a pistol. Considering we are surrounded by yankees, she has to be. At this moment she is rejoicing because she has rescued the first rie tomato from the garden from a rather large beaver who seems to make it a mission to devour all the tomato plants.
In all seriousness, this whole thing about the evangelist and his murdered wife is getting graver and more heinous by the minute. It seems that the mother tried to defend her daughter against sexual abuse by this man, and lost her life as a result, and there is further allegation that the father convinced the daughter to let him back in the house after th wife threw him out, which resulted in her death shortlythereafter, and further allegations indicate that the father enlisted the assistance of the daughter he abused to cover up the crime. The man has been denied bond and the story continues.

Things like this are just what the media craves to report on, for some reason.
I heard about the story and as mentioned thought about the actor Hopkins first, and was incredulous. Sure, he's played some extreme roles in his career, but he's also Sir Anthony Hopkins (correct me if I'm wrong), and then I learned it was some guy in Mobile with the nickname preacher, which he got from being seen at the church each day.
I'm wondering when he went from being a daily presence in the church to being a preacher with credentials to back that up. If he is indeed a preacher, then certainly we've got a media today that doesn't care to get a story right and is out purely for sensationalism, and slanderous lawsuits.

Lots of these "evangelists" in the small church circuit build their business just like any other salesman. Many of the churches have no denomination ties and operate in more isolation. Preaching "credentials" are often little more than claiming to be "Called" and being able to sling scripture and whip up some frenzy. It will indeed be interesting to see what comes out over time about this guy's background.

Irregardless of the fact that I am an ordained Minister, as a human being I am shocked and sickened by this man, this incident, and the chilling reminder of how utterly Satan can corrupt a soul and completely destroy all that is innocent and good.

not a surprising story to me at all, unfortunately. Children are often at the highest risk in their own home and domestic violence against a spouse often leads to crimes against the children as well.
It's also not surprising at all that the children went to church, sat on the front row, and played music in robot like fashion. Abuse victims learn early to build walls of silence as a mode of survival. The real pain for them will be opening the wounds so healing can begin. That is where my prayers are being directed.

I mean no irreverence, but if there are family pets they also appear to be targets of the worst kinds of abuse and neglect so I am also praying that if there were pets that they have found their way to good and responsible custodians also. When our daughter worked for child welfare, one time she brought home three adorable but neglected boxer puppies and this english bulldog puppy and we have them to this day. There was also a pot bellied pig and a rooster, but both of them went to a farm.

Is he one of those preachers that is going to claim he received RHEMA (revelation knowledge) about doing what he did?
How horrible that this happened and unreal that his family didn't ever open that freezer....
