This is some random something I wrote the other night. It was inspired by one of Isaac Dietz' videos and a C.S. Lewis quote.
Every poem can be considered in two ways--as what the poet has to say, and as a thing which he makes.

Time; that which moves onwards.
Our human minds continually process at an amazing rate.
Constantly in motion with thought after thought.
We sit and begin daydreaming the dreams we hope to have,
As they separate the limitations of reality.
Yet in reality we can't wake up from the dream to make it actuality.
Seconds multiply into minutes, which soon becomes hours.
The sun greets the moon before our eyes blink.
Where has the time went?
We are consciously unconscious of every moment being placed into creation.
Getting to point A to point B without stopping to tie our shoes in-between seems less important.
Why don't we stop for that moment?
Have we forgotten about the prospering flower? the swaying trees,
our reflection in the puddle from the last rainfall?
Where has the time went?
And why haven't we stopped for eternity?

a poem i wrote about someone i know

Fading Memories
Distant places draw you near
Your parting is what I feared
Whispers and voices spoke in your ear
'Causing your heart to shake in fear
You sat there all alone
in a place not your own
Your hands grasped the voices
You held on tight to the faces
Reaching for the fragents
Of your fading memories
The things around you are foriegn and strange
The rains of darkness try to put out the flame
Sanity nearly nearly cracks, from the gravity you feel from the winds
If God be your Savior, if God be your friend
Each night your weary vessal lays
And each night your thirsty heart prays
Your hands grasp the voices
You hold on tight to the faces
Reaching for the fragments
Of your fading memories
Before your eyes you've seen, broken spirits, crumbling
Can't let them see your fear, as they look you in the eye, trembling
Your heart remembers who you are
The excitement in your eyes shone like a star
You will go and be a strong pillar in places unknown
But back then, you just wanted to go home
Your hands grasp the voices
You hold on tight to the faces
Reaching for the fragments
Of your fading memories
Lonliness, the worst of all pains
accopanied you on your bunk, in your shame
But God was there
You were in his care
As evidence of your destress ran down your face
He was holding you in that dark place
Your hands grasped the voices

Now here you are my Brother
Refresh yourself in His Love
Lies of lonliness and being forgotten may have burdened your heart
But I want you to know right now from the start
I never had to remember you
Because I never for a moment forgot you
