I still haven't gotten anywhere with disability. So, I went to the welfare office today to see if they could help.

I have a stack of bills for each time I've seen my therapist. Each bill is about $40. I haven't had the money to pay them, so they just been sitting there while I've been praying and trying to come up with a way to pay them.

While I was at the welfare office, the lady informed me that I had just been recently approved for MediCal. I told her about the bills and that they went back to March. She said to bring them in and they would retroact my MediCal back 90 days! So that covers those bills!!!

The new meds must be working ok, despite the rash. I got pulled over today. The officer didn't see the sticker on my front window and thought the registration was up on my sister's car. Normally that would've sent me into a major panic attack and I'd have to have gone home. Instead, I was able to carry on a conversation with the officer, find all the info she needed and then drive on to the Welfare office without getting sick, shaky, dizzy or upset.

Ummm... what rash and have you spoken with your doctor about it?

If not, do so ~ make sure you speak to the doctor, not a receptionist and not a nurse. And make speaking to them a priority (ie today, not in 3 weeks ).

Roberta, won't quote your whole post, but it's really great that you were able to deal with the officer. It's also really great news about your MediCal and having it backdated!

Roberta, congrats on the Medi-cal. BTW, Agapetos is right. The doc needs to know about and evaluate the rash if he/she hasn't already.

The rash is from the sun. The meds seem to make me more sensitive to the sun than I already am. I go see the dr. in about two hours.

That makes sense about the rash. You allergic to sun or heat? Unfortunately, a lot of psych meds mess with either our ability to tolerate heat or our ability to tolerate sunlight.

It would seem both. Although sunscreen with SPF 50 does help some.

I went to the dr.
My weight is up by four pounds.
My blood pressure has dropped from 150/90 to 135/85.
My waist has gone down one inch.
She seemed overall satisified with the progress made this month.

Roberta, is it possible that you gained muscle? That came to mind with slight gain paired with size loss. Either way, congrats on the blood pressure.

I've been doing the PraiseMoves DVDs. I only have two of them so far and I've been doing another one called Stretch and Pray. I have a fourth Christian exercise DVD ordered, but it has yet to arrive from CBD. They said it should be here soon. When finances allow, I may get some Beverly Exercise DVDs too. This way I'll have plenty of variety. I'm not good at making up my own workout routines and I don't stick with them when I get bored with them.

Most people get bored with workout routines Roberta ~ and if they don't get bored, their bodies become used to them and it stops benefitting them. When I was going to the gym, the classes changed their routines every 13 weeks or so. In the gym itself, I changed my routine whenever it became too easy for me to do the current one ~ and that depended on how often I went

Wow, somebody on one of our local blog sites sent me a link to a site that talked about praise moves as an alternative to yoga and the belief system behind it. I looked at it and it looked great, but I have no time for any of that. I have been on a rollercoaster this past year and a half. But in the end, I have lost 35lbs by diet and exercise. Plus the exercise is like medication to me. I can totally tell when I am not exercising. I get depressed and feel much more down when I skip it.

When I lived in Indiana, I would DVR her show on SkyAngel. I can relate to Laurette. She's not a skinny little teenager trying to tell a 43 year old woman how to look, act or feel. KWIM?

I hope you are making time for yourself, not just for exercise. It's important to do good things just for yourself.

Awesome about the exercise and weight loss! I totally can relate to the emotional roller coaster thing!

I'm not sleeping well at all. I've averaged about 3 hours of sleep a night for the last week. I didn't finally fall asleep until 6 am and I was awakened by a screaming 8 year old at about 6:45 am. I need some prayers for some serious sleep ASAP.

I've tried laying down for several hours now. Didn't manage to go back to sleep though. Very frustrating! In less than 45 minutes I'm going to be taking care of kids and I'm a grump right now!!

I have no idea what is causing the lack of sleep.

I think I figured out why I'm not sleeping. All the meds I'm on, except my daily multi-vitamin and Ambilify, are white and close to the same size. My pill case is actually one that has four slots for each day. However, I use one slot for each day that way I can fill it up with 28 days worth of pills. I've been doing this for a few years and never had a problem. When I was taking my meds tonight, I thought something didn't seem right. Sure enough, I didn't have the Trazadone in it!

I'm going to call my pdoc in the morning and see if there is a way that I can have the pills color coded or something along those lines. She might have some other ideas for me.

Anywho, y'all have a good night. I'm hoping to be off in dreamland real soon.

Tis worth asking that, but you may be stuck with having to adapt how you use your pill case.

I'm hoping to squeeze in stops to the court house and SSA over the course of this week and next. After all the examinations and everything, the official diagnosis for my husband's behavior and cognitive weirdness is "depression and severe stress reaction" and he's back to thinking that all we need is that move to where his friends are. Obviously he's never going to get where he's contributing to our problems - and is still thinking that it's a me thing with him being ok.

I agree, it's worth asking about ~ but your pharmacist is probably going to be more helpful about colour coding than your doctor. Sometimes different strengths of meds will be a different colour/shape, but that would mean you taking more.

I have two pill cases, with a one-dose space in each. They'redifferent colours and I use one for morning meds and the other for my evening meds. My Sunday evening task is to fill them up for the coming week. When I'm close to emptying my prescription, I fill in the repeat prescription to drop it off at the pharmacy in the next week.

Good point Agapetos, and it might even take a "compounding pharmacist" (as they're calle here) to get that done.

BTW, this not sleeping thing is contagious. Or seems to be. Then again, my problem might just be having taken benedryl Monday night and then sleeping or never being particularly awake till about bedtime pretty much all day yesterday. Plus, I'm sure my anxiety and PTSD aren't helping.

I hope all of you are doing OK.

I suspect that part of not sleeping could well be do to the longer days, shorter nights etc. It can mess with our sleep patterns. Switching the clocks forwards never helps me ~ and yes, I know it's been a while, but then it sometimes takes a while for us to know we're not sleeping.

I did sleep last night from about 11 pm to about 4:30 am very soundly. Then from 4:30 to about 6:15 I drifted in and out of sleep. Sis's alarm goes off at 4:30, sometimes it wakes me and sometimes it doesn't.

I'm very sleepy, so I may try to take a short nap today.

Any luck on the sleep front?

I THINK I've figured out what's waking me. Just some of the many joys of city/apartment living.

I'm off to the neurologist this morning. Follow up on my migraines again.

I managed to sleep about five hours last night. I probably would still be snoozing if everyone in the house hadn't woke up to go to work/school.

I went to my first AA meeting today as my pdoc suggested.

I was not impressed. I'll try a few others before I decide if I'll go back again.

One thing I've consistently heard about AA even from those that like it is that it can take some looking to find "your" group/meeting and that it can get especially tricky if you have a mental illness to go with your alcohol troubles. So if it's not something in AA itself (like a theology or practice thing), you might try a different meeting time or even a different place - or even specifically look for a "dual diagnosis" group if the mental illness stance is the problem.
