Hello, and welcome to Faith Community Network forums!

First of all, the icon displayed by your username is commonly called an avatar. For security reasons, you need to have 50 posts before you can display your own avatar.

If you haven't yet reached 50 posts, you may choose from a list of pre-selected avatars. This is done by going to the "My Profile" section on the top of your page. In the middle of the page, you'll see the following options:

quote:

Upload my picture (will replace the existing one) View My Avatar!
Click to choose avatars
Don't display avatar

Choose the second option to pick from our list of pre-selected avatars. Once you've reached 50 posts, you'll be able to choose the first option. You may upload any inoffensive picture that is 145x145 or less and under 10kb in size. Once this is finished, check the box for the first option, as the second box is checked by default.

Make sure you click on "apply" or OK* at the bottom of the page, or your upload will not "take".

Hope this works for you! :-)

*apply works for some people and not others, the same goes for OK.

??

The little window that opens up when I choose to upload a pic says they can be 290x290.

Which is correct?

The profile photo may be 290x290. The avatar must be 145x145.
