Also some prompt came to me...may be Joyce is a human being who due to her abusive childhood got simply distracted by $$$.

She was sexually abused by her dad for 15 years. Can you imagine what kind of child she grows up to be abused by her dad?

Instead of condemning her harshly...let's instead keep her in our prayers!

Joyce is a human being who has her carnal side - like all of us - and she could have made slip-ups? Aren't we all the same in some situations folks? C'mon let's be honest and stand by each other instead of being harsh and judgemental toward each other.

This is what a true Christian does when his brother or sister stumbles!!!

Shall we keep Joyce in our prayers instead of being cruel, severe toward her? Shall we folks, for God's sake????

Here is a view from http://www.geocities.com/cobblestoneministries/2005_CRM/Women_Pastors.html that makes some good points.

1Cor 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Christian women are not to have authority over the men. This is Biblical. There is an order to everything, as outlined in the Word of God. The husband is head of the wife as Christ is head of the Church. The head of every man is Jesus Christ and the head of the woman is the man.
1Tim 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Tim 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1Tim 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

1Tim 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
The key to the above verses is "to usurp authority over the man..." Obviously many women are included in the New Testament writings, therefore they were not in obscurity...lurking in the shadows somewhere. (Read: 1Tim. 5:9-10; Phil. 4:2-3; Acts 9:36-9; Rom. 16:1; Tit. 2:4-5)
Each person has a clearly defined role within the Body of Christ.
Eph 5:22-24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. The Bible is consistent throughout. Nowhere will you find a Scripture that speaks of women being head over the church body.
Now, some denominations go overboard and will not even let the women talk in the church foyer. Such thinking is nonsense for even the Apostle Paul greets certain sisters in the Church in his letters. Anyone who reads the Bible verses in context understands that the Bible is clearly defining the roles of the man and the woman within the Body and that the woman is not to be in authority over the man.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Prov 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Some men think women to be intellectually inferior. I pray this is not the case within the true Body of Christ. Some men have the idea that Christian women have nothing to offer to the Church. No, this is not what the Bible is saying. The Lord gives each and every one of us (male and female) spiritual gifts and natural talents and abilities. There are many godly women out there who fear the Lord and who have much wisdom.
There are women who have higher IQ's than their husbands but it still does not give them the authority to rule over their husbands or over the men within the Church. God's rules are clearly defined and should be obeyed.
Although all are one in Christ Jesus, there is an order to everything that
God has made.
Christian women can minister to other women-- such as in women's Bible study groups, children's Sunday school, ladies retreats, etc. A Christian woman can write books and articles, which edify all believers, (under the authority of her husband and/or pastor) and minister in music (modestly dressed) on the platform. We do not believe that women (nor pastor's wives) should sit on the platform-- for the very reason that nothing should distract the listener from the message being delivered. The pastor's wife should sit with the congregation, submitting to her husband's leadership, as an example to others.

When one makes the choice to become a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Word of God requires the following:

"1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop,* he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil." -I Timothy 3

I'm not getting into the subject of her being a woman who teaches men which is also biblically wrong, because this is not the thread for that, but in no way, shape or form does Ms. Meyer's past excuse her false teaching. Perhaps we can just say that she simply does not qualify for the position she has chosen because she fails many of the requirements listed in the Scripture above.

I've been having an upfront conversation with a number of my American friends - the majority of them confirmed to me that many people don't approve of her "as a woman" preacher - it's unscriptural - to which I agree, but at the same time feel sorry. We, women, really need to have at least one female preacher who understands our problems.

Furthermore, I believe it's God's way of bringing Joyce back to obedience bc she is living in rebellion in many areas in her life, being a woman preacher is only one of them.

Overall, I like Joyce Meyer. I honestly find her an honest, transparent, funny, good Bible teacher and she made lots of impact in my life and many other folks.

I know she needs to do lots of growing up. Therefore, I believe we need to hold her up in our prayers instead of condemning her or judging her harshly.

Cloak,

That is directly disobeying/disregarding Scripture's clear command and example of what to do with someone that preaches a false Jesus, a false gospel.

Did you read anywhere in the Scripture I quoted in post 853 that it said "woman," wife," "she," or "her" in the qualifications for a minister of the Gospel? Nope! It plainly states, "Man," "husband," "he," and "him."

Well, this is completely off topic...we are discussing a female Bible teacher (and I use that term loosely because the lady we're discussing is a false teacher), not a woman boss or military overseer.

Who are "we" to answer that question?

What if one of your family members, co-workers or friends started a questionaire/survey, "Any _______(fill in the blank) fans out there? What's right/wrong with her/him?

It's absurd, to say the least!

No it's not absurd. The difference between the people you mention and Ms. Meyers is that she is getting up in a pulpit and claims to preach the Gospel. We, as Christians, are commanded to examine that teaching in light of the Bible and, if it is off or false, expose it and warn those who are or might be deceived:

2"Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables."
-II Timothy 4

con·vince:
-to move by argument or evidence to belief, agreement, consent, or a course of action

re·buke:
-to express stern disapproval of; reprove; reprimand.

ex·hort
-to urge, advise, or caution earnestly; admonish urgently.

"We" are the Body of Christ. The Bible commands us to test ALL teaching against Scripture. And if does not line up (as does most of Ms Meyer's theology), it is to be exposed.

Paul had no problem exhorting the Bereans to test his teaching against Scritpture. Ms Meyer should expect the same. However, most WoF cult teachers and their followers get bent out of shape when their teaching is exposed as contrary to the Word of God

A ver-r-y nice house for sale here.

It's well worth a look--it's a real estate page but I'm not advertising for them, the subject is Joyce Meyer.

Well, after looking at those interior pictures, I'd have to say, like her friends, Jan and Paul Crouch and Benny Hinn, not only is she a false teacher, she also has absolutely no taste! Patoooooey!

One aspect of her teaching in encouraging women to get over their pitty parties is good. However, her false teachings destroys any positives she may bring to the table.

OK! This is in response to anyone that is unclear of what god wants for his people (children).
God said that he wanted us to prosper in every way spritualy, health, wealth, so why do people get in such a bunch when they see that someone in the ministry is doing really well, I don't understand this, because it is ok for rappers, designers and whom ever else that dosn't have anything to do with the kingdom of god to get rich and make money , i mean what do you think they shouldn't get paid to do thier JOB yes this is considered a JOB a fulltime job as a matter of fact. I love to see someone in the kingdom doing good it is a reflection of all the wonderful things god has instore for you and anyone involved in this wonderful walk in christ.

leatha,

Thank you for putting out 35 pages of video, audio, written documentation and testing done in light of Scripture - all with your two posts about God wanting people to be rich and healthy.

Prosper is a relative term. Everything must be seen from His view point and not our own.
