My birthday was good. The party hasn't happened yet. It rained all of last weekend and we decided to put it off until there was pleasanter weather.

I got some henna for my hair, some nice soaps and massage oils, a scented candle and a small figurine.

Busy week ahead, dh is out of town until Friday but we've spent most of this evening sorting out paperwork so that tax can be done when he gets back.

We also dropped X at a slumber party 45mins drive away at about 2pm.

Dh worked this morning while J went to saxophone lesson and X and I went shopping for the birthday present.

I loved the birthday present X put together. She bought her friend a coffee cup with a Chocolate Mug Cake recipe rolled up into a scroll inside it, added a packet of mini M&Ms and a throw so her friend could keep warm while she's enjoying her Mug Cake. Very Cute!!!

J forgot his mouthpiece when he went to sax this morning so he apparently did percussion for the half hour he was there.

And to add to the excitement of my day I have just finished the last load of washing which I started at 8am this morning (it's now just after 8pm).

X is having the day off this morning. I had the pleasure of cleaning up after her this morning. Thankfully, it was all over the kitchen floor, not on the carpet.

She is most miffed as it means she will miss out on participating in the walkathon today which is fundraising for their meals on their Canberra trip next month.

I just can't imaging being on an aeroplane where one-third of the passengers are 11 and 12yos.

J is very excited as he is starting a Mechanics Group today, an out of school lesson for four weeks where he will learn how to fix bicycles.

Work is going really well, am still enjoying it thoroughly.

This week I'm being a work widow again. Dh is in SA all week.

Poor X. I hope she's feeling better soon.

I can't imagine being on a plane full of 11 and 12 year olds either. I don't like flying, so that would really stress me out.

When does dh get back from SA?

Dh is back on Friday. It was either fly out Sunday and get back Friday or leave Monday morning (harder to do because I would have to drop him off before getting myself and kids to work and school) and arrive back Saturday. This way he's home before the weekend.

Both J and X were home today. It seems whatever X had/has is contagious. I just hope I don't get it. I have training on Thursday and it's in an area I was really looking forward to learning more about.

Well, J and X are both recovered from the vomitting/diarrhoea thing.

Now we're sitting at home at nearly 11pm waiting for a doctor to come around (not so sick that a hospital visit is necessary, but!!!) as X is having troubles breathing properly. I figured we could either go to the local hospital and wait there for four hours or we could wait in the warmth and comfort of our own home and have the doctor come to us, meaning I didn't have to take her out in the cold night air. Her breathing hasn't gotten any worse, it's just not getting better either.

I got a virus on my computer last week.

It took dh five minutes to fix once he got home but I couldn't figure out a thing about it.

I hope the doctor managed to get X sorted out quickly. Was it an asthma attack?

Sounds like dh is a handy man to have around when it comes to computers. I wish somebody could fix ours, but I'm pretty certain this one is going to have to be replaced somehow.

I hope so too. J and X will have had a full week off school if they take tomorrow off.

I've got something on at work tomorrow which I'm not looking forward to too. It's a new part of my job and nobody really seems to know enough about it to give me any guidance.

I'm not a big fan of sports at the best of times but I have hardly watched this Olympics at all. It's just been all a bit too political for me this time around.

Well, I'm off to work and, after my light reading last night, I have discovered I may not be able to do anything with that thing at work anyway because something else, which I wasn't aware of, wasn't done three days ago.

I'm not exactly a sports fan either. I like watching women's gymnastics and figure skating. That's the extent of things for me. John and Joan have had it on quite a bit when we're home though. I hear things in passing.
