 This is a very good thread! I am glad to see it brought up again. These verses stood out to me today: "But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like to a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." 22-25

"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God." This verse speaks to me, in that in a certain area I need to work on this myself.
I also noticed the words in the end of v. 21: "receive with meekness the engrafted (implanted) word, which is able to save your souls."
Amazing to me, the power of the implanted word - able to save our souls. A very good reason to be reading or studying His Word often. : )
