Lord Jesus, I agree with Waffle for hte prayers for salvation for family. Please let it happen, Lord. Waffle, I'm so sorry for your grief. As to your grandfather's eternal destination, I am going to encourage you to lay that matter with God. I can assure of this: God knows all things, He is completely just; He is merciful and compassionate, and He understands what goes on in every heart better than any of us. So wherever your grandad is, is the place that God in complete mercy and justice has allowed him to be. Only God knows where that is. It is not for us to make that judgment. We don't know what people go through in their dying minutes and seconds. We must just look to the Lord, and trust Him that He had the person's soul well in hand. So I encourage you to rejoice in the love you shared with Grandad, and thank God for his life, and thank God that all is well, whatever that happens to be. One day all understanding will be ours, and we won't be worrying about it, as we will truly understand why things are or are not. The Lord bless you. In Him Sherri

Father, Thank you for being better than we are capable of understanding. Thank you for your grace which you give to waffle's grandad. Please give encouragement to waffle and to the whole family. Help them to be assured that you are good, that you know what you are doing, and that their beloved relative is in good hands. Thank you for everything that you do. We praise you and ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

waffle, this may be the verses that some are telling you about. 1 Corinthians 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. As Keabird said, we don't know what happened in your granddad's heart in the minutes and seconds before his death, that he was unable to tell you. And we don't know or understand all. His word tells us this. Trust in Him, that your granddad is in good hands. Father, be with waffle and his/her grand. Comfort them Lord, and give them peace about this. In Jesus precious name. Amen

Father comfort the heart of this family. Give them peace and the strength to trust in your mercy and your wisdom and your justice. You loved this grandpa and you worked diligently on his behalf. Bring to their memory every good thing that you shined into his life when he was with them. And enable them to trust him to your care. Comfort their hearts. In the name of Jesus. Amen Waffle, There is so much good advice and wisdom on this thread already. I just wanted to say that your Grandma shined the Truth and Love of Christ in your grandpa's life every day that they were together. No one knows what seeds may have been planted and taken root. Only God knows the state of his heart, what was growing there or not, what may have bloomed in time so that everyone could eventually see the work of Christ that may have taken place beneath the visible. There is just no way to know it, and it's not our place to judge it. I've seen so many people misjudge the living and the dead. I'm so glad that God has taken that responsibility upon himself and simply asked us to love. Love your Grandpa, all the good memories you have of him, all the wonderful things you learned from him, all the beauty that God has promised to bring from the ashes in his life... we all have those ashes somewhere along our walk in this life. Hold on to the Good and the beauty that God created in your Grandpa, and cherish it. Let God fulfill all the plans and blessings that he may not have gotten to impart to your Grandpa into your life. Let your Grandma's testimony of loving the sometimes unlovely, empower you in your relationships with people. Ur awesome. Love to you <3
