How to Break Free From the Opinion of Others

Originally published Friday, 10 February 2017.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” One of the major oppressors to our freedom in Christ is fear and I know this all too well. So one of my personal goals for 2017 is to stop allowing fear to have any power in my life. I’ve spent too many years shrinking back to fear hoping it would just go away. This year I finally realized fear would not give up that easily so neither would I. One of the most common fears we face is the fear of what others think of us. And this fear is robbing us of our joy, peace, and confidence in Christ. So I want to ask you: Are you constantly afraid of what others think of you? Has this fear ever prevented you from doing something you know God called you to do? In this week’s video we discuss Galatians 1:10-12 and learn how to break free from the opinion of others.

Dear Heavenly Father, may your opinion of me always outweigh any other. May your pure and affirming thoughts of me lead the course of my life and how I view myself and others. I love You. In Jesus Christ Name I pray. Amen.

Now let’s keep this conversation going Beloved. Comment and let me know whose opinion do you think women have become slaves to the most; their kids, spouses, boyfriends, other women, society as a whole? Let’s chat more about it in the comments. And if you enjoyed this week’s video please be sure to share it with a friend. You never know who might need some Beloved encouragement today.

you are loved,

Christina
