If you’re saved already, I think now would be a good time to remind you that there are still so many people who either don’t know Christ or have never accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. Everyday there are people that we see, that need to know how to be delivered, healed, changed, set free, and introduced to a new way of life. Keep in mind, those who are unsaved think that everything is alright in their world and think that they can work things out on their own, but we know that there is no real peace, joy, or true fulfillment in that lifestyle. The saddest part about living a sinful life is that they are on their way to eternal damnation…hell. That’s why they need salvation.
I know a lot of people don’t like to talk about hell, but it’s written more times in the Bible than heaven. So I have to ask you this question, are you reaching out to the lost? Have you talked to your unsaved family members or friends about Christ yet? Are you sharing Christ in your community or talking about the Lord through your social media outlets? If so, I think that’s awesome! But if you’re not, then I urge you to ask God to give you a Holy Ghost boldness to share Christ with others around you. Because guess what? Time is running out! Jesus Christ is coming soon, and things are beginning to look darker in the world that we live in. It’s time to share Christ, so those around you won’t have to face the most horrible time this world has ever seen.
Now, let me ask you this question. Have you ever walked someone through the sinner’s prayer or helped them to rededicate their life back to the Lord (this is for the backslider)? If so, that’s good. But if not, I have provided a little bit of a guideline for you. I encourage you to read over it first, before presenting the information to them. And by all means, present it in a way that you feel most comfortable. Again, this is merely a guideline to help you in the process. And one key nugget that I need to give you is this…before you approach or call someone to share the gospel, pray and ask God who to talk to and when. You don’t want to do this without the power of the Holy Spirit’s direction. The Bible tells us in Zechariah 4:6, “…Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” He will help you.
You can do this! Just let the Lord guide you every step of the way. He’ll show you who and how to open it up. Sometimes you can talk about what’s happening with the weather, current events, what’s happening around you, or just go right in and ask, “Has anyone ever shared Christ with you?” Or “Do you know Jesus?” If they say “yes or no,” either way, continue on in the conversation and you can even share a little bit of your own testimony with them and what God has done in your life. There’s no sure way to do it…just do it the way you’re led. But know that you have a responsibility as a Christian to witness Christ to others, not just in deed, but in word as well. So here’s a little prayer and guide for the plan of salvation to help you. Here goes…
(After you’ve talked to them awhile…go over the sinner’s prayer and ask them to repeat after you) *Father God in the name of Jesus, I come to you confessing and admitting to you that I am a sinner. You said in your word that if I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that you raised him from the dead, that I would be saved. Lord, I confess that Jesus is Lord, and that he died for me and I believe that you raised him from the dead, that I would be saved. I repent of my sins and please forgive me for all of my sins today. Please wash me clean. I choose to live for you all the days of my life. Thank you for your love and for saving me, in Jesus name, Amen.
Now, if they have recited this prayer with all of their heart, then they are saved! Welcome them to the Christian family! The angels will be rejoicing! And let them know that this is the best decision that they have made all day and for their life!
Also, after you’ve prayed the prayer with them, encourage them to pray and talk to God anytime, get a Bible or read it more if they’ve rededicated their lives back to Christ, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide them throughout their life. You can also tell them to pray and ask God to lead them to a Bible-believing church where they can grow with other believers. This part is very important. Baptism is another piece to the puzzle, because it shows an outward sign of what has already taken place in their heart.
Listen…don’t get overwhelmed! Again, this is only a guide. I’m just giving you a few pointers on how to do it. But remember, the Holy Spirit will be your guide as you witness to others. I pray that Jesus continues to be Lord over your life and that you keep the faith no matter what, my sister. Now go out, and share Christ. It’s time!
Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!
