What Happened After the Jump

What Happened After I Jumped

As we grow up most people (me included) connect purpose with an innate ability.  Or perhaps life’s purpose is a born talent.  It was after I made the move of faith I discovered my purpose and calling were two different animals.

You see, God has plans for you.  Big plans, grand plans, and plans to do amazing things through you as well in you.  Some of you know well what your purpose is.  Others of you are still discovering your purpose or wrestling within yourself.

I sense, now I’m touching a nerve and throwing a few zingers out like arrows.  Wouldn’t it just be dandy if there was a neon sign or billboard in the sky?  Or at the very least, a sign of direction to tell you which way to go?

Let’s all agree, direction with assurance would make moving into the unknown easier.

The future as we know it can very unclear or confusing.  You don’t know where to jump if you have lost your way or can’t see where you land.  You can do what I did.  Look up.   I’m just being real here.  In just a few thoughts, doubt can quickly spiral you into a lonely place, therefore resulting in unbelief.  The journey to unfulfillment is short and fast-tracked without hope.

News flash:  God is not in the business of instant dreams come true.  He is more concerned about our holiness over our happiness.  The road to happiness includes a ton of detours; most detours are of our own making.  God is more concerned about our becoming holy.

What we forget when we lose our way is the fact of God is always working for us.  He is on our side and never has a bad day.  He is a good, good Father who looks after our best interest all the time.  God’s original plan for man was to exhibit the likeness of Jesus.  Genesis 1:28 “God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

“Be fruitful and multiply” must be layered within our purpose too.  As humans, we tend to think we live within roles as males, females, moms, dads, etc. We tend to our family to fill our lives with culture, stuff, possessions and with children.  I believe the bigger plan of God is to replicate the nature of God!  To exemplify God’s very nature in every place we exist and to every life that lives.

God is the same before time began, through all time and will be the same until the end of time!  This goes for all His kind intentions as well!  Ephesians 5:1-2  “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”  Just as Jesus touched countless lives, we as God’s children, are to replicate the Father’s heart on the earth.  His purpose was to “only do as He saw His Father doing.”

What does God do the absolute BEST?  He Loves you.

So then, I urge you to do the same.  Walk in purpose as dearly loved children and as children dearly in love with God.  You see with all this talk about change, purpose, and callings –God’s original design of us and our lives has never changed.  His original intent was to make us holy and live in the delight of His love originally planned for us.  His idea for His created beings is to love, live loved and replicate love.  This kind of Love is the holiness that will set you apart from the world.

Look up and let God define His definitive plans for you.  Ephesians 4:1-2 “As a prisoner of the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worth the calling you have received.  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient and bearing with one another in love.”

God is always working FOR the good in your journey unto His holiness!  He never forgets the passions or the design he has put inside of you either.  God’s future for us is FULL of hope and love.  Don’t discount small beginnings.  Remember His purpose for your life is to be fruitful and multiply.

How can you best live your life out according to the love that God has designed for you?
