The Lord intends that He is the only One who truly satisfies us, deeply and wholly.
But is this true for us? Is this true for you today?
There are plenty of good things in this world--good gifts given to us by the Lord (James 1). Just think of every material blessing you own, every relationship in your path, and the countless spiritual blessings given to you in Christ!
Despite all these good and perfect gifts from above, the question still begs to be asked: Is the Lord the only One who satisfies you? Is He alone your portion? If all else fell away, would He be enough?
Isaiah 12:2 challenged me today: "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."
Consider the joy found in this verse. Knowing Christ is more than simply being strengthened by Him, it is finding joy in Him!
Is this true of you? The only ultimately satisfying good and perfect gift is knowing Christ's love (Ephesians 3). May He be your strength and song and salvation today!
