You Can Practice For Eternity

Originally published Thursday, 09 May 2013.

All of us can begin practicing for eternity right now.

Revelation 4 describes the majestic throne of God in heaven, surrounded by the living creatures and elders who worship Him continually, both day and night.

What can we learn from this? In heaven, worship of God never ceases (v. 8). God is constantly and wholly glorified, honored and thanked (v. 9). His dominion is forever and ever (v. 10), meaning His character never changes, even still.

Worshipping God for His very person will be one expression in which we participate. And we can start practicing now by using the very words of Scripture:

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." (v. 8)

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things and by your will they were created and have their being." (v. 11)

As an expression of His love, God created. He created you and breathed you into being "by His will". Not only that, but He created you in His likeness. And He set forth a plan to redeem the world by the blood of Jesus, even before time began.

What an indescribably awesome God we worship. May we practice for eternity by worshipping God with all thanks today for who He is!
