I attended Dream Culture Conference at Bethel Church in Redding, CA last week.
I went with my best friend Monique who is a missionary in Haiti. The last time we saw each other was at my wedding over two and a half years ago. I went because I thought my dream died. I knew in my head it hadn't, but I wasn't so sure I believed it in my heart.
On the way up, my husband informed me that God had provided enough money to pay for the hotel while I was at the conference. During a time of testimony, I stood up to share exactly that and Andy Mason, the host of Dream Culture Conference (along with his wife Janine, said let's ask God for more. Let's ask God for a VACATION!
That's when I started crying.
Because my husband and I recently had to make a decision to spend money on a home repair instead of going on an international vacation. I was bummed that I had my passport for over a decade, but never used it. I was bummed that I'd have to wait longer to get a stamp.
Then all of a sudden people start coming up and giving. I ball even harder. Andy hands me the microphone and I share that I was angry and God and people give me even more money. I cannot believe the total money collected was $911. It was if God said, "I HEARD YOU RENEE!"
Crazy!
You can watch the video here.
If I were to share all the amazing God-sized things that happened during the conference, I'd fill up at least 10 blogs. But instead, I want you to do something for me. At the conference, Andy and Janine gave us each a Dream Journey Workbook. I want you to list, like we were doing during the conference, your dreams. In fact, I want you to list 100 dreams. Can you do that for me? With me?
To get you started, here is a list of some examples of dreams:
+ Big Dreams: End global poverty; become the first woman president...
+ Fun Dreams: Ride in a hot air balloon; eat a whole tub of ice cream... +Physical Dreams: Run a marathon; beat an illness; go skydiving...
+ Financial Dreams: Become debt free; give away a house...
+ Emotional Dreams: Overcome fear; restore a broken relationship...
+ Spiritual Dreams: Live from love; be known as a friend of God...
+ Legacy Dreams: Pass on an inheritance to my children's children...
Here is the picture of me holding up my list of dreams. I'm up to #78 now, and can't wait to reach #100 dreams soon!
Question: When was the last time a dream of yours came true? How did it make you feel?
Don't forget: If a dream isn't BIG enough to scare you, it isn't big ENOUGH!
