5 Prayers for the New Season You're Facing

Though we can’t predict the future, we can know for certain Who will be with us in every new season. We have a loving Father who promises to go before and behind, hedging us in with His protection and peace.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

It’s been a new season for my family as my husband retired after 30 long years of shift work, our youngest son moved across the country, and I received my coaching certification for biblical mentorship. Along with more personal things, this season has challenged us in ways we didn’t expect. We’ve laughed, cried, worried, and hoped, but through it all, God has faithfully covered us with mercy and favor.

Though we can’t predict the future, we can know for certain Who will be with us in every new season. We have a loving Father who promises to go before and behind, hedging us in with His protection and peace.

Whatever you’re facing in this new season, here are 5 prayers to take with you:

1. A Prayer for Health and Wellbeing

Heavenly Father, You are the Creator who fashioned me in Your likeness. You know the inner workings of my body and any areas that are prone to sickness and disease. Please, Lord, bring healing and wholeness to my frame, strengthening me to do Your will. I pray against any and all limitations hindering me from living life to the fullest. I commit every part of my mind, body, and spirit to You, trusting You as my Great Physician. Thank you for trusted doctors and medical professionals who have my best in mind. Please give me the wisdom to know when to seek treatment and what course to take. As you restore my body to full health, I purpose to walk in the gifts and talents you’ve given me as a testament to Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.

Scriptures for Health and Wellbeing:

“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.” Proverbs 3:1-2

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:7-8

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 1:2

2. A Prayer for Deeper Faith

Gracious God, Thank You for the measure of faith You’ve given me—faith in Your Son, Jesus, for salvation. Lord, as I grow and mature, please deepen my faith to trust You even more in the days ahead. Help me discern between good and evil, always choosing Your path of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Remove thoughts of doubt that cloud my vision, and strengthen my resolve to remain faithful to Your word always. In Jesus’ precious name, amen.

Scriptures for Deeper Faith:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” James 1:2-3

“Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,’ and he was called God’s friend.” James 2:21-123

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

3. A Prayer for Your Loved Ones

Lord God, I come before You today on behalf of my loved ones. You know them by name and are aware of everything they’re going through. Lord, please watch over them, sending many angels to fight against the principalities of darkness that surrounds them. Please speak Your truth to them, drawing them near unto salvation and keeping them in Your steadfast love. I pray for everyone in my sphere of influence from youngest to oldest, that You would use me to be a faithful witness to them—a witness of your light and joy. Please guard them, guide them, and bless them, in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Scriptures for Your Loved Ones:

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

4. A Prayer for Your Finances

Father, I lay my finances at Your feet and ask for Your divine favor. Please forgive me for the areas in which I’ve been a poor steward of the resources You’ve given. Help me set financial goals that will honor You and store up treasures in heaven. Show me how to balance my budget by bringing my first fruits into Your storehouse as a tithe and offering. Give me the self-discipline to save a portion of my income, pay my bills on time, and give freely to those in need. I commit my finances to You, thanking You for the many undeserved blessings I’ve already received. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.

Scriptures for Your Finances:

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9-1

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

“Then he said to them, ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.’” Luke 12:15

5. A Prayer for a Blessed Season

Gracious Heavenly Father, You have been with me through every season of life. Even when I struggled to sense Your presence, You were there. As I enter a new season, I pray for Your loving hand to guide me. I pray for abundant blessings of peace and joy as I journey into an unknown future. Thank You for never leaving or forsaking me. Draw me into Your presence daily through prayer and worship, speaking words of truth into every area. When I’m afraid, assure me of Your hand of protection. When I’m sad, be my Comforter and Friend. And when I’m uncertain of what to do next, be the still, small voice of Isaiah 30:21, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” I trust You for a bright, beautiful season in the joy of Your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Scriptures for a Blessed Season:

“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” Jeremiah 17:7

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12
