As Christians, we’re not expected to succumb to the doctrines of darkness by accepting trade-offs and making concessions to appease those who are hell-bent on undermining our core values as believers in God.
The last time humans attempted to live as one unified global community was during the building of the Tower of Babel—when men of all tribes congregated in one place and stood united as they strove to reach the sky.
They wanted to achieve such a feat for selfish reasons, fueled by their insatiable desire for fame and power. It is for this reason that God derailed their plan by confounding them, causing them to speak in languages foreign to them.
However, aside from going beyond their boundaries, driven to breach their limits to satiate their narcissistic goal of surpassing God, they also angered the Lord by sidestepping one of His directives: to spread out across the earth and multiply.
“And they said, 'Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.'” Genesis 11:4 (NKJV)
Instead of yielding to God’s instruction, they defied Him by doing exactly the opposite of what was required of them. For this reason, many Christian preachers espousing conservative views, like Pastor Jack Hibbs, Jan Markell, and Emir Tsarfati, among others, believe that God isn't a globalist but a nationalist.
When they say nationalist, they don’t equate this to barring people from migrating to countries of their choice (as long as it’s legal), marrying someone from a different racial background, or discriminating against people of various nationalities.
What they are trying to emphasize is that God set boundaries and made every nation and race distinct from one another for a reason. Thus, His preference for such a setup must be respected; nations must maintain their borders and distinct identities as He designed.
“From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us.” Acts 17:26-27 (NIV)
You may ask, "What if a nation has inhumane cultural practices? Will it not be better to influence them into our line of thinking?" That's exactly why God sent His disciples across the world to teach the truth of the gospel, but not to the extent of changing people’s distinct identity as a race or nation.
One-World Religion
Thus, the building of the Tower of Babel can be likened to the one-world religion concept. It is merely a trap. On the outside, it promotes goodwill to all me, –but lurking beneath the surface is a veiled sinister agenda.
Just as the people who built the Tower of Babel set their sights to the heavens as if paying homage to God, the concept of one world religion, aiming to unite people of all faiths, will be established not to worship the One true God but for humans to indulge themselves in the glory of their strengths, exploits, and triumphs.
Moreover, the one-world religion concept is also a mere cover for another cunning plot by the globalists who want to promote a new world order. It’s only logical to assume that when people of all faiths become united, their globalist agenda can fully take shape.
The Pope’s Aim to Unite All Faiths
As our world is scarred by religious violence, hostilities, and persecutions, the clamor for peaceful co-existence among different religious sects has never been more pressing, calling people to not only live peacefully with those who believe differently but to accept their beliefs as truth altogether. Such has caused rightful scrutiny and push back from Christians.
Gone are the days when the churches in the West stood their ground—often, even at the cost of their own lives to defend the truth of the gospel. This has been the prevailing stance since the time of the apostles. As Christians, we’re not expected to succumb to the doctrines of darkness by accepting trade-offs and making concessions to appease those who are hell-bent on undermining our core values as believers in God.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers.” 2 Timothy 4:3
But we’re living in the last days; the winds of change have come. These days, an escalating number of preachers are more than willing to compromise God’s truth to appease the various religious groups and factions, LGBTQ+ communities, and atheists.
We seem to have forgotten what’s written in Galatians 1:8 (NKJV): “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”
Pope Francis, for example, approved the bestowing of blessings for same-sex couples and even went as far as relieving a church official of his duties for having contradicted his statement on the issue when the former released a church publication, declaring that “the church cannot bless the union of gay couples because God cannot bless sin.”
And the Pope isn’t the only Christian leader backing such a stance on gay marriage; you will be astounded upon learning that a myriad of Christian denominations worldwide also show their support.
“If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be My spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!" Jeremiah 15:19 (NLT)
The Pope's standpoint regarding the salvation of atheists also contradicts the Church's long-standing belief in Christ’s redemptive work on the cross. In a statement that stunned many, the pontiff made the following assertion at the Vatican: "The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! 'Father, the atheists?' Even the atheists.”
The Pope argued that even atheists can be redeemed if they do good works—a misshapen view that runs contrary to what’s written in the Scripture: salvation through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Thus, it’s clearly evident that the global unification of faiths seeks to take God out of the equation; it’s all about living our own lives as we see fit—where man is allowed and encouraged to play God.
“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10
When Jesus reached out to sinners, He did not compromise the truth of God’s Word. He received the sinners with open arms, engaged with them, teaching them the way of righteousness so they could live a full life in the Spirit. And when some rejected His teachings, Jesus never compromised God’s commandments to appease them. He stood His ground.
And this is what’s expected of us. We must remember that we’re not in this world to appease or please everyone to gain approval. The reality is that we should expect persecution, as Jesus Himself said in John 15:18-19 (NKJV): “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
Anyone Can Be a Catholic
The Pope’s appeasement to different religious sects by issuing statements that reinforce their beliefs while failing to mention the Church’s stance on the importance of receiving salvation through faith in Christ alone is tantamount to discrediting God and His teachings.
The papacy also propagates the idea that anyone who does good is a Catholic, regardless of his religious affiliations.
During an inter faith-dialogue organized by the Kenneth Copeland ministries and the Catholic church, the late Bishop Tony Palmer spoke to a gathering of protestants on behalf of the Pope, saying, “It’s the glory that glues us together, not the doctrines.”
Saying that it’s the glory that unites us rather than the doctrines is deceptive and runs counter to what the Scripture says. Spiritual doctrines are God’s teachings, a set of moral principles that should permeate a believer’s way of life. Thus, doctrines are important as stated in Galatians 1:8 (NKJV).
One World Religion Is Taking Shape
Under the Pope’s initiative, more and more religious sects and factions reach out to one another to bridge gaps and cultivate unity. Don’t get me wrong, it's admirable to strive to live in peace with others. But because we know we’re living in the last days, such a seemingly noble goal could take a dark, sinister turn.
Remember, the globalists’ idea of inclusivity includes everyone except God.
As Pastor Amir Tsarfati eloquently remarked: “In ancient times, to spread a new religion, it was by the power of the sword—this emerging new world religion is not by the sword, it’s with honey, with sweet words, with inclusivity—despite theological differences.”
