The Greatest Gift – Beloved Women – April 5, 2019

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” These are words many of us have heard all of our lives. My question is; do you believe this statement? Are we more blessed in the giving than the getting?

The greatest example of gifting we can examine is the one God gave us in the form of His Son. John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave us His Son. His sacrificial giving set the pattern for us to follow. When we give to others, we model the life of Christ. And Christ blesses us for our faithfulness to His teachings. As Christians, the calling for us is to give to all in need. The scriptures remind us if we have two cloaks, we should share with our brother. (Luke 3:11) Out of our abundance, we should share with others.

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for blessing us with the gift of your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Thank You for teaching us about the blessings we receive from giving to others. Help us always to be gracious givers in a world of consumers. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
