Are Your Trusting God’s Plan - Beloved Women - January 26, 2024
READ: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT: If you are like me, to-do lists and phone calendar reminders are never-ending, ongoing attempts to stay organized during our hectic lives. Still, with the greatest efforts and intentions, the best plans will change. After years of Babylonian exile, Jeremiah, the Old Testament prophet, encourages the Israelites to trust in the redemptive plans of God. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God’s plans are ultimately always to prosper us and never harm us.
Like daily plans, God’s plans for our lives require us to adjust and detour when they take a different turn than we anticipate. Will we give thanks for the new direction or complain because it is not the outcome that we desire? God loves us so much to lead us in the right direction. Although it can be uncomfortable and even confusing I encourage you to trust God’s process and plans. God’s track record is consistent, and He will continue to provide opportunities and relationships to help us grow, and mature in Christ and with others.
PRAY: Dear God, Thank You for always wanting what is best for me, because of Your amazing love for me. Thank You that the plans that You have for my life is designed to prosper me and not to harm me. In times when I am restless, please grant me patience and peace reminding me that You are leading me in the right direction. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: What current situation in your life do you desire to trust God’s plans more?
