The Power of Your Words - Beloved Women - January 31, 2024
READ: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” (Proverbs 18:21 ESV)
TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT: What words have been spoken to you by yourself or others? Are they words that breathe life or death? Ashamedly, I must admit that I have not always used my words to speak life.
In times of carelessness, I have seen my words tear down those that I love the most. This is why King Solomon, in his wisdom, warned us of the tongues potency. He communicated what God had already demonstrated in the book of Genesis when He spoke the world into existence.
Our words, whether spoken or thought, are powerful. As believers created in the image of God, we must become like Him and use our words as He did. We must speak words of life to the people and circumstances around us.
PRAY: Dear God, Thank You for giving me the ability to communicate. I ask for Your help to use my words to build up and speak life to situations and people around me. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: How might God be leading you to use your words to speak life?
