Be You . . . to the Glory of God - Beloved Women - January 8, 2024
READ: “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30 NIV)
TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT: Every day there’s a temptation to be the carefully edited version of me that people will applaud and cheer on. Is it possible to bring God glory by being my authentic self?
It’s so difficult to resist the urge to people-please using charm or beauty because deep-down I just want to feel loved. Can you relate?
This performance trap leads us down an exhausting, wild-goose chase, trying to earn man’s approval. But what we really want is the freedom to just be ourselves. That’s exactly what God has given us! Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we’re already accepted.
No charm or beauty required. Instead of masking ourselves in fear of rejection, we can embrace who we truly are because in Christ we’re already accepted. When we choose to fear God by allowing the truth of who we are in Christ shape us, we highlight His infinite worth through our individual personalities. So be you...to the glory of God, Your Creator.
PRAY: God, I’m your wonderfully made creation. Please help me remember this when I’m tempted to conform and please others. Help me personally experience the freedom and joy that comes with being myself to Your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
REFLECT: What part of yourself can you embrace more by accepting how unique God has made you?
