Show Me the Path of Life – Beloved Women – June 17, 2024
READ
“You will show me the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy; At your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” - Psalm 16:11 NKJV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
When we read in 1 Samuel, Saul is in pursuit of David. Saul has no apparent reason to be after David except for jealousy, bitterness, and anger in his heart. David has served and done all that Saul has asked of him. In 1 Samuel 26, David has a chance to kill Saul to get back at him, but David says “The Lord forbid that I should stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed.” (1 Samuel 26:11 ESV)
David knew that God had a plan and path for his life. David clung to the promises of God and he waited many years for this promise to come to pass. God knows the path of each of our lives. When we trust in Him, there is fullness of joy and all the pleasures that He has in store for us. He is faithful and He knows every detail of our lives. Nothing is hidden from Him. Our job is to trust, obey, follow, and not get ahead of the perfect path that God has chosen for each of us.
PRAY
Dear Lord Jesus, may I wait patiently on you. May I trust in you and the path that you have set before me. Thank you that you are faithful and true, and I can rest in the promises and plan that you have for my life. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT
Are you trusting God with the path that He has set before you?
