God is With You in the Dark – Beloved Women – March 1, 2024
READ: “LORD, you are the God who saves me; day and night I cry out to you.” (Psalm 88:1 NIV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: In today’s Psalm, the writer calls out to God. His plea reminds us of Jesus on the cross crying out in his darkest moment to the Father.
“About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me”. - Matthew 27:46 NIV
Do you think God stopped loving Jesus because He was on the cross? Was Jesus’ suffering a sign that God dismissed His Son? Absolutely not!
If God didn't stop loving Jesus on the cross then He will not stop loving you. No matter the dark season you find yourself in God has not, and will not stop loving you. If He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6), trust that He is right there in the darkness with you. He walks through the valley of the shadow of death with us (Psalm 23:4). We may not always feel or hear God but we can always believe His promise is greater than our darkness.
PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me no matter what. I pray I never forget the deep and everlasting love You have for me. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray Amen.
REFLECT: What is one thing that has happened in your life that assures you of God’s love?
