Don’t Let Fear Stop You - Beloved Women – March 21, 2019
READ
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. – 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
Our choices have significant consequences. The Holy Spirit might be asking you to commit to a relationship, a small group at church, or a goal you once set. Fear can keep us from the high calling God has placed upon our lives. Fear disrupts faith and can become our biggest obstacle to trusting and obeying God. Being a slave to fear can keep us from an opportunity to discover that God can be trusted.
Trust and fear are constantly battling for our decisions. There are good fears that keep us from reckless choices, but your ‘no’ because of fear shouldn’t keep you from saying ‘yes’ in faith. If you live in fear, you will never experience the potential that God has placed in you. You will have to face your fear and act when you are afraid if you intend to do what God has created you to do.
PRAY
Heavenly Father, we know your perfect love casts out all fear. Help us to live out of your love for others and your love for us, Jesus. When we are tempted to follow fear and disobey your Word, Father, strengthen our resolve to stay the course and follow through on faith. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT
Where is Jesus asking you to step out, step up, step into the face of fear? What is holding you back?
