Trusting God with Your Physical Insecurities - Beloved Women – March 28, 2019
READ
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. – Psalm 139:13-14 ESV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
“Flapping fans of war”, “jumbo”, “Will Smith’s sister”. These were names I was called because of my ears. As a teen, I wondered why God would give me such big, protruding ears.
Is there a body part you have been struggling with? Do you secretly wish you looked like someone else? You probably have at some point.
Here’s the truth: no one is perfect, whether in physical attributes or some other areas. More importantly, we were all created by a good, good father. Every one of us is a masterpiece, a testament to the prowess of the master potter. We were made a specific way to fulfill a specific plan.
Have you been hiding your flaws and imperfections? Stop! Focusing on what we don’t like makes gratitude impossible. Remember that your body is the temple of the living God. It’s time to make the most of all he has given you. Don’t hide who God made you to be, embrace it.
PRAY
Papa, I thank You for creating me for Your purpose and pleasure. Lord God, help me to embrace every part of my body, including those parts I had been hoping to forget. Let me use every part of who I am for Your glory. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT
Are there parts of your body you don’t like? Pray the above pray over every single one of these parts.
