An Unseen Army on Your Side - Beloved Women - March 3, 2023
READ: “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:16-17 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: What army do you feel squeezing in on you? An army of medical bills, an army of lies or an army of doubt? The issues we face can sometimes incite fear in our hearts and trepidation in our steps. We can even go so far as to question God’s commitment to protect and provide. And like the servant in today’s verse, we might be shaking in our boots wondering how we’re going to get out of the situation.
This is when we must act on our faith so that we can see the unseen. When we respond in faith instead of reacting in fear we can see possibility. Through the eyes of faith, we can see provision right before us, we can see the people He’s placed in our lives to assist us, we can see His hand of protection at work. Our faith is the evidence of the unseen (Hebrews 11:1).
Be assured that the captain of the Lord’s army, Jehovah Sabaoth goes before us. He has commanded angels to watch over us and protect us (Psalm 91:11). Even in the midst of an impending attack, with seemingly no escape and limited resources I encourage you to look again and to see the unseen.
PRAY: Lord I admit that sometimes I am afraid and overcome by what I see. Thank You for Your assurance to be strong and of good courage. Open the eyes of my heart that I may see the myriad of ways You are faithfully protecting me and providing for me. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: What assurances, provision, and protection has God placed right in front of you that you may be overlooking?
