Bloom Where You Are – Beloved Women – March 30, 2020
READ: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Have you ever felt like a friend was trying to fix you? As an encourager, sometimes I see people’s potential and want to help them move it along. My attempt to help can create problems because people resist change or my attempt to interject my agenda in their lives. The truth is God has a defined blueprint for each of us.
God instructed Hosea to marry a Gomer who was a wayward woman (Hosea 1: 2). From all human appearances, it would appear Hosea had lost his mind. Imagine you and I were his friends, we would probably ask him, what were you thinking? You have no business marrying this woman because you are a man of God. You better run for your life.
Hosea did exactly what God told him to do. In my limited view, I want him to run but I am not God. So, I must trust God’s best plan and not try to fix others. God gave Hosea grace to stand for the specific call on his life. He gives each of us grace to stand, endure, and even thrive in imperfect circumstances.
Not everyone will understand your situation. Remember, God's grace is sufficient in your weaknesses. He empowers us to trust his plans for our lives and bloom in imperfect situations.
PRAY: Lord, thank You that Your grace is enough for my less than perfect circumstances. Help me to bloom where I am planted and teach me to encourage others with gentleness and love. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: Have you ever felt misunderstood by others? In what ways will you encourage others with tenderness and love? How will you ask God for the grace to bloom in imperfect situations?
SHARE: God empowers us to trust him and bloom in imperfect situations.
