Confession is Good for the Soul - Beloved Women - April 1, 2024
READ: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
TODAY'S ENCOURAGEMENT: Confession is good for our souls. When we confess anything to God, including our sins, God will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 teaches us that God welcomes us to confess our sins so that God can cleanse us. We are not to come to God under compulsion but from an assurance of His great love.
We don’t have to worry about our shortcomings being used against us or broadcast everywhere when we confess to God. Before we pick up the phone to share with friends, we should talk to God first. Pray to God, write, or sing songs of praise! Be creative in the ways that you share with Him. The good news is that God won’t judge you and is waiting for you to draw closer to Him. Due to God’s great mercy, we have a second chance to start anew.
PRAY: Dear God, Thank You for Your unconditional love for me and hearing my prayers and confessions freely. Thank You for giving me the courage and boldness to come to You openly, without hesitation. Please remind me that You are always for me and desire to help me change, and not condemn me. I receive Your forgiveness and freedom that comes from confessing to You in prayer. I love You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT: What is one thing today that you will confess to God with boldness?
