Put on the Belt of Truth – Beloved Women – May 30, 2019
READ
“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth.” – Ephesians 6:14 ESV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
Although the belt of truth is the first piece of armor described by Paul, in Ephesians 6:10-20, it is actually the last piece of armor a soldier would put on. The belt of the armor is what holds all the other armor together, and keeps it on the soldier. If the belt is not on and properly fitted, all the other armor will quickly and easily fall off in battle. This spiritual piece of armor is called the belt of truth because it is trust that keeps everything in place and protects us from the lies of the enemy aimed to disarm us.
It is important that we do not untie our belt of truth. We must stand firm on whom we know God to be in our lives, and not what we see in this world. We walk by faith and not by sight. This world and everything in it, is but a vapor, but God’s Word and truth will last forever. The more that we grow closer to God and keep our eyes on Him, the more we will secure ourselves with the unaltered and unchanging truth of God.
PRAY
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your truth that protects me and sets me free. Help me to believe your truth and not to be deceived. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT
How can you protect yourself with the truth of God?
