Identity Theft – Beloved Women – November 13, 2019
READ
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14 NLT)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
Why is it that thieves don’t break into an old run-down vehicle parked on the street? Thieves target vehicles in good condition because they probably contain more valuables. In the same way, as valuable children of God, we are prime targets for the enemy. He is after priceless treasures in us, such as our identity. He knows that if we reach our potential, we could do serious damage to his kingdom. This is the reason why he is out to steal, kill, and destroy, as Jesus tells us in John 10:10. However, the enemy cannot steal our identity without our cooperation.
Just as we protect our valuables by locking them up, we can secure ourselves in the Father’s love. How do you do that? By reminding yourself daily who you are in Christ, and proclaiming your identity is not up for grabs. God designed you uniquely for his purpose. Declaring who you are in Christ prevents identity theft.
PRAY
Lord, thank You that my identity is secure in You. Help me stay close to You and hide Your words in my heart. Help me see myself as You see me. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT
What valuable quality do you need to remind yourself God has given you?
