God Never Fails to Think of You – Beloved Women – November 15, 2024
READ: “Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” (Isaiah 49:16 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: I don’t have any tattoos, but I’ve heard that getting a tattoo can be a painful experience. Furthermore, the pain intensifies when tattooing parts of your body with lots of nerve endings, or close to the bone, or where the skin is very thin. A tattoo on the palm then would be very painful. Regardless of placement, one is advised to think carefully about the design or name etched into his or her skin since it becomes permanent.
In today’s passage, God reminds His people that He can never forget them. Their protection and safety are continually on His mind. It is impossible for God to open His hands, to act without thinking of His people. When we consider Jesus’ nail-scarred hands, the pain He endured for us on the Cross, and the love that made it all possible, we can rest assured—God’s care and concern for us, His people, never falters.
Life may be hard, and you may feel that God has forgotten you, but sing for joy, for the Lord will have compassion. He has not, will not, and cannot forget you; you are engraved on the palms of His hands.
PRAY: Father in Heaven, How precious to me are Your thoughts towards me. If I would count them, they are more than the sand. Thank You for Your reassuring presence when trials come, and for laying Your hands of blessing on me. Help me to share the good news of Your constant care and concern for us. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT: Do you know what God thinks of you? How do you feel when you consider that although the Lord is high, He regards the lowly?
